Chris and Darren Crisscolfer were sleeping in their bedroom. Their 2 year-old daughter Sydney was sleeping in her room.

Sydney began tossing and turning in her crib. She then woke up in a jolt. She started bawling her eyes out.

"Daddies...," she cried.

Chris heard Sydney's cries and got out of bed. He walked into her room.

"Daddy, daddy, daddy," she cried.

Chris walked over to her crib.

"Hey, what's the matter, princess?," he cooed.

Sydney looked up at Chris with tear filled eyes.

"B-bad d-dweams, Daddy...," she cried.

Chris looked down at his daughter in sympathy.

"Come here, honey," he cooed.

He reached down and picked Sydney up. He put her over his shoulder. She then started crying harder.

"Hey... What's the matter, pumpkin?," he cooed.

"I-I no feew good, Daddy," Sydney hiccuped.

"What doesn't feel good, baby?," Chris asked softly.

"T-tummy h-hurts...," she hiccuped.

"Your tummy hurts?," Chris asked.

Sydney nodded and put her head on Chris' shoulder. Chris rubbed her back.

"Alright baby. Daddy'll make you feel better," he said.

He walked downstairs, careful not to wake Darren. He went into the kitchen where they kept their medicines. Sydney then started bawling her eyes out and pulling on her ear.

"Sydney Elizabeth," Chris said, softly.

"H-huwts D-daddy...," Sydney cried.

"Shhh... I know baby," Chris cooed.

He got into the cabinet and grabbed the Tylenol and a syringe. He then went over and grabbed one of Sydney's bottles and filled it with warm water. Chris figured she would want a bottle. He made the bottle, grabbed the medicine and Sydney and went upstairs. She was still crying, but now she was just whimpering.

"Here honey, this'll make you feel better," Chris said.

He got the liquid Tylenol out of the bottle with the syringe. Sydney saw the medicine.

"No! No yuckies!," she cried.

Chris sighed.

Sydney then started crying again, but harder.

"Alright, alright. No yuckies," Chris soothed.

He picked his daughter up and put her over his shoulder. Her crying made her start coughing, then she gagged.

Chris pat her back.

"Sydney, you have to calm down. You're going to make yourself sick, baby," he soothed.

Sydney cuddled into Chris' shoulder as her sobs tampered off. Chris then heard her start to grunt.

"Maybe that's why your tummy hurts, baby," he cooed.

Now that Chris had thought about it, Sydney hadn't had a bowel movement in awhile. She continued to cry.

Chris walked over to the rocking chair in Sydney's room and sat down with her. He grabbed her pacifier and put it in her mouth.

"Daddy...," Sydney cried around the pacifier.

She clung to Chris like her life depended on it.

"Shhh...," Chris soothed.

He held his daughter tight as he rocked her and sang.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away.

By now, Sydney's cries had subsided. She was looking up at Chris with watery eyes. She blinked and a few tears ran down her cheek. Chris caught them with his thumb, wiping them away.

The other night dear, while I was sleeping, I dreamt I held you in my arms. When I awoke dear, I was mistaken. So I hung my head and cried.

Chris finished the song and Sydney's eyes were closed and she was cuddled against his chest. He took her into her room and laid her down on the changing table.  Chris changed her diaper then laid her down in her crib. She fussed a little, but Chris rubbed her back and she went right back to sleep.

He walked out of the room, closing the door softly on his way and went to bed himself. Tomorrow would be another hectic day.
