1984, June

"Aren't you glad I joined Band?" The youngster asked his Father. He was actually 18.

"You broke the tradition." He scold, looking out distantly. Mr Jonathan Barry was a football star back in his days. He led the pack to victory as the primary alpha.

"We still protected the mountain during the moon." Pete grumped.

"The football team is supposed to be superior!" He scold. "No one cares about 15 boys with drums!"

"I care, dad. So maybe you should too." Pete grumped, his eyes tearing up a little. He felt anger wave over his face in heat.

Mr. Jonathan Barry took a sigh. "I'm just- I'm just concerned. You can't handle a pack of big football players."

"But I did," Pete furrowed his eyebrows.

Present

Jimmy Flamagon, lead snare, and Ally Barry, arrived to the rehearsal an hour early to go through strategy.

"Ok so after the game we won't take off our uniforms, okay? They don't either." He told her, she nodded.

"I'm just so worried about the freshmen." She scratched her temples. She was strong, but due to streptococcus her knee was enflamed and impaired her ability to walk, let alone moving the Majestic Marimba around.

"It'll be okay, I promise." He rubbed her arm ever so gently. He loved her.

Him doing this made her feel very upset. It wasn't fair. At least not for Jimmy.

"Do they know?" He asked her, cocking his head down so he could see her better.

She covered her teeth with her lips. "No. It'll distract their playing."

"That's okay. They can't handle much pressure anyways. You should see the battery in performance. It's like they never learned their dots."
