Everything was going great. You had just got a promotion at your job. You had worked so hard at it. It was a tough business and there were tons of other workers that might have deserved it; but you took home the cake.

You were wondering what Jeremy had in mind for today; it was your second anniversary. Your husband, Jeremy had always been a romantic. You got into your car and were on your way over to your house, when you got a call from your best friend, who was also your neighbor.

"[Y/N], what do you think Jeremy is going to do for your anniversary?" she asked. The car stopped at a red light. "I don't know, he is really tricky at times, so I guess I'll see when I get home."

You pulled into the driveway of the home you shared with Jeremy. You could hear the fire alarm beeping loudly. You rushed inside.

The entire living room/kitchen was full with smoke, while pots continued clinking in the kitchen. "Jeremy! Why is there smoke everywhere?!" you screamed. Jeremy threw the burnt food into the trash can, coughing from all the smoke.

"Can you please help me open some windows in here?" You put your briefcase on the table, and helped Jeremy open all the windows in the kitchen. You both went outside to the porch. "What were you trying to do?" you laughed. You stopped chuckling when you saw the upset look on his face.

"I was trying to cook you dinner" he revealed, disappointed in himself. "I can't do anything..." You frowned. "Stop putting your self down because of this one mistake. I'm not the best cook either." He stood up and took a small box out of his pocket. "I was going to give this to you, before this happened" he added, kicking over a small trash bag that contained the burnt 'food.'

You opened the box. Inside was a beautiful gold and pink opal bracelet. Opal was your birthday stone. "Jeremy, this is...I love it." He put the amazing jewelry on your wrist. Then you realized you didn't get him anything. "I should've got you something, I can't believe I didn't think about it." "I'm the husband [Y/N], I spoil you." He kissed your forehead. "Come on, maybe we could just go out for dinner" he suggested.
