It's Saturday and I have nothing to do. All of my friends are doing stuff so I'm on my own. I was so bored that I worked up the guts to text Braydon. This shouldn't have been such a big deal. I don't know why I was so nervous. I'm a pretty brave and outgoing person. I stopped worrying and typed, Hey. I'm bored. Are you doing anything?

Did I really just send that? I was about to say that it was for someone else when he responded. I'm bored too. Want to see a movie tonight?

Woah. He just asked me to see a movie with him. I quickly responded, Yeah. How's six?

Braydon gave me a ride home after the movie. He asked me in the car about my homecoming dress. He wanted to know what color it was so he could get a matching tie. I hadn't picked a dress yet, so I said I would text him a picture when I got it. This was pretty much the greatest day of my life. Braydon even said he'd be looking for me on the field at the homecoming game. He dropped me off and drove away. I was going to ask Amethyst to take me dress shopping tomorrow.

She said yes. We went after church the next day. She made me try on a dozen dresses before she liked one. I didn't like it because it was definitely not my style. It was an ombre that faded from pink to purple. The skirt was poofy and it touched the ground. I wanted something I could actually move in. Amethyst ended up getting that dress. I got a black dress that reached just above the knee. It has silver rhinestones dispersed over the top. I really liked this one.

My sister spent eighty dollars on a pair of shoes that she will only wear once, and no one will see them because of her gigantic dress. I pointed this out to her, but she didn't care. It was her senior year, and she wanted to go all out. She picked a pair of heels out for me, but I put them back. Instead I was going to wear a pair of Amethyst's flats that she accidentally got too big so she never wore them. I'm also pretty tall, and heels would make awkward to be five inches taller than my date.

We paid for our clothes and left the store. I paid for my dress, which was way more expensive than I thought. Next time I'm getting a dress from a thrift shop.
