Dear Friend,
Ever since we've moved to this town everything has fallen out of place. Summer was horrifying, packing up and moving from somewhere that meant a lot to me, to somewhere that I don't even know. I have to go through the stress of making sure no one notices me at school again.
Everything is out of place, my room is bigger and it makes me feel smaller. So far Bonnie has been happy and if she's happy, then I'm happy, or at least I think I am. Friend please tell me what to do, I'm scared."Barnaby! Barnaby! Gumball, hurry up we're going to be late for school on the first day and no way is that going to make a good impression!" I heard my sister shout at me from the bottom of the stairs. I begrudgingly got out of my seat, checked myself over in the mirror once more before mouthing my name, I sure did look stupid. Slinging my bag over my shoulder I ran out of my room and down the stairs trying not to slip and fall on top of Bonnie. Bonnie is my sister, she usually goes by her middle name to anyone that isn't family though, so mostly she's known as Bubblegum, as I'm known as Gumball. She smiled widely at me and grabbed my hand dragging me out the door screaming a quick goodbye to Pepper and Minty, our guardians as our parents were always busy.
I was basically shoved into the car with my bag on my knee. She seemed excited, but then again, unlike me, Bonnie liked change. She always had, growing up she always changed, her style, her way of talking, her way of presenting. Everything changed daily. I on the other hand barely changed, Minty says that sometimes it's even hard to believe that my voice ever broke.
"Gumball, you excited for today?" Bubblegum laughed at my side. I shrugged in reply, not really knowing what to say. I was almost excited, or at least I felt excited, maybe it was just the fear mixing with anxiety in my stomach and my brain trying to tell me I was feeling okay. Bonnie didn't pester me though, she more than likely knew how I was feeling; we basically had a telepathic bond, it was probably a twin thing. We looked exactly the same in every way, from dying our hair pink together when we were twelve with chalk, to getting it permanently done together when we turned sixteen. We were almost never separate until the end of last year when our parents finally gave all legal responsibility in our lives to Pepper and Minty.
Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and the sensation of being shaken.
"Gumball you really were out of it, any way we're here, have fun. Have the keys and lock the car when you finally decided to get out" Bonnie said with a lot of enthusiasm before kissing my head, dropping the car keys on my lap and scampering away, more than likely to find new friends.
I took deep breathes and after about two minute, finally stepped out of the car, bag over my back and standing up straight.
"It's a new day Gumball, just stay quiet, don't look people in the face and you'll be alright" I muttered to myself as I locked the car and turned to face the school. The place was huge, a big difference from Ooo, but then again everything was different now. I heard a bell ring from inside the school building and the courtyard finally cleared, so I walked inside and stopped dead in my tracks. Bonnie was standing at the door with a teacher by her side. For a minute my head went hay-wire thinking that my sister has already gotten in trouble before realising it was more than likely a teacher here to welcome us to the school.
"Gumball, this is Mr. Olive, he's the principal. Mr. Olive, this is my twin brother Gumball" Bubblegum introduced us and I took his hand shaking it weakly when he offered it to me.
"Nice to meet you Gumball." He nodded and smiled at me which made me want to curl up and die. Instead I did what I was supposed to do and greated him back.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well sir."
A tour was given of the entire school, we also met some of the teachers, well the ones we would be sharing. Timetables were also handed to both of use before we were told to quickly head to second period class unless we wanted to be trampled by a stampede of teenagers. Bonnie and I said our final good lucks to each other before running off.
We didn't share many classes, just two, math and chemistry. Which I didn't really mind because they were both subjects where we became competitive with each other. I wanted her in my class now though because I was terrified. Entering the class, I was of course the only person there. I thought for a minute before the idea of introducing myself to the teacher actually appeared in my mind. I walked up to her desk and smiled weakly.
"Hello, I'm your new student, Gumball Candy" I mumbled. The woman looked up at me and smiled widely. She had long blonde hair and was wearing a short rainbow coloured dress.
"Lovely to meet you Gumball, I'm Ms. Rain, many call me Miss. Rainicorn though, I respond to both so it your choice" she giggled up at me, which almost made me smile, she reminded me of one of Bubblegum's friends she had back home named Lady. Enough of that though. After introducing myself I went and claimed a desk as close to the back as possible. I didn't want anyone at all noticing me.
Second period went by pretty quick, we just got our English books and an assignment. But overall, so far, things were going okay. Just, okay.
