Chapter 8: Disbelief

The day of the high school reunion came. There were a bunch of old classmates I saw, and greeted.

"Wow Seiji, you sure made it big." Minami hugs me.

"I suppose." I realized how wasted my childhood was. I spent my days acting like an adult that I didn't have an ounce of my childhood features left. I gave her a light hug.

"You are quite the lady killer huh?" Fuji punched my arm. "Feels great to see everyone again."

I smiled, and nodded.

"Look. Those are the students from the school across." One of my classmates pointed to the pile of students walking in.

"Pitiful." I muttered. I hated the kids there. Mostly just that one particular girl that messed around with Tsukasa at one point.

"Ahh they are those unhealthy people." Reine laughs.

"Don't be like that." Kai shoved her lightly.

I saw someone that caught my eye instantly. Kyou! My eyes widened. None of my friends knew that I had relations with someone in that high school. How could he be here?! I quickly stood behind a taller man.

"Is something wrong?" The tall guy says.

"No nothing. Just.."

"Seiji!" Kare runs to take my hand.

"Aw high school sweethearts!" A group chanted.

"We aren't together anymore, but I really wanted Seiji to sing!"

"Oh right! You should." Kai winks. "You always had a decent voice."

"I don't know." I kept eyeing Kyou, who was chatting away. I couldn't take my gaze off him. He looked happy. He doesn't look happy with my anymore though.

He looked my way, and I instantly turned my head. I took Kare's hand, and pulled her far away from Kyou.

"What is it?" She looks concerned.

"Kyou. He's here."

"Fuck him. He must be with those losers."

"He is, but we got into a fight. So it is awkward."

"Fight?" Her face looked annoyed. "You guys always fight. I don't think you should associate with him."

"Attention attention!" The president said. He was standing on a stage that were surrounded by balloons, and banners. Felt so weird standing in the crowd. It was like I was in my high school years again. "We are setting up a karaoke booth in building two, so please head there now! See you there!"

"Come on!" Kare takes my hand. She begins pulling me to the building along with all my other classmates.

The auditorium, and stage was still the same as when I last saw it. Red velvet curtains, and soft red seats. The smell was just as elegant as it was before. I was seated in the very front along with everyone. Kai came to sit next to me. He smiles. "How have you been Seiji?" His eyes flashed at my neck. "Nice necklace. Me, and my wife have that too."

I realized I was wearing the necklace with the dog tag, and Kyou's engagement ring. I had a habit of wearing it. I quickly shoved it in my shirt. "Thanks." I mumbled.

"Who is the special lady? Kare?"

"No one." I smiled. "It belonged to my brother." I still couldn't have the courage to say his name so lightly.
