"I got my fathers will in the mail." Rose said, opening up an envelope at the table while Craig brought the girls downstairs.
Craig sat next to Rose, sitting the babies on the table while watching her put on her glasses to read the note. He watched Rose's face go from blank, to saddened. He looked at Rose, then watched her put the note down and cover her face.
"Babe, what's wrong?"
"Look!" Rose said, placing the paper on the table and pointing to the bottom.
It said "sole proprietor of the $10,000 - Katherine Daniels. $500 - Rose Alyssa Daniels. $500 - Violet Daniels."
"Wait, your dad didn't change the will?" Craig asked in a shocked tone.
"I never had my dad sign the will." Rose said. "The rent here costs $700. Not to mention that we've spent a majority of our money on the billings here."
Craig looked at Rose, watching her hands shake a little bit.
"We don't have a lot of money left, do we?" Rose asked.
"I spent a majority of the money from the team and interviews on our car insurance, bills, both of the babies, and the bills to my old apartment." Craig sighed. "We probably only have around $200 left."
Rose covered her face and started to cry silently. Craig placed the babies in his lap, inched close to her, then placed his arm around her.
"How could I be so stupid to forget to do that!?" Rose cried, keeping her face covered. "It's all my fault! Now I can't even keep my fathers house or take care of Caylee, Riley, or our oncoming newborn."
"Rose, it's not your fault." Craig sighed, rubbing her shoulder. "It's alright. The only sad part is that we're going to have to move back into my old apartment....."
Craig looked down at the other envelope next to Rose. Their billing was due over a month ago. They knew that they would have to save up to get a large truck to keep some of the things at the house, move some of their things out, and get back into his apartment on time. This meant that they would have to start packing and saving the little amount of formula and food for the babies that they had. But since they were feeding two, there wasn't too much of it left. They had no choice but to feed them whatever they had in their fridge.
Craig and Rose were right back in their poor stance. Violet on the other hand was trying to get a hold of Rose, not knowing that the home phone had been cut off.
"Rose, happy birthday!" Violet whispered. "Listen uh, I'm going to be staying over Nicholas's for the rest o the night. I just found out that he's a killer, and I don't know what he's capable of. I'm really scared, so please answer the phone when you get the chance."
For the rest of the day, Rose was racking up voicemail after voicemail for her 24th birthday. Family members from Katherine and Harold's side continued to call her, leaving voicemails whenever they could. But since they were so busy packing up as much as they could that they didn't even pay attention to it. At night, Rose and Craig were sitting in the living room watching movies, when all of the lights cut off. Their power bill was shut down. Rose and Craig looked and turned to each other, when they heard both of the twins crying. They both jogged upstairs, taking them out of their cribs and bringing them downstairs. Rose knew that they were hungry.
"What do we feed them?" Rose asked, sitting in the dark. "We can't warm up their bottles."
"Lets try to give it to them with lukewarm water." Craig responded as he grabbed both of their bottles and headed to the sink.
