That Malfoy (Cedric Diggory)

5th year. Old friends, new friends, and Hogwarts. And Cedric Diggory, my best friend. I had a crush on him since 3rd year, when we were in Care of Magical Creatures, and he put himself between me and an angry Hippogriff named Buckbeak, who was cute until angry. Ever since, I have had a crush on him.

I had to bury the crush I had on him deep when he started going out Cho Chang. I was in the same house as Cedric, and knew him since before we went to Hogwarts, yet, he still went out with Cho, a girl he hardly knew for a year. It made me so mad, but I let my anger out by screaming in my pillow in my dorm.

Since I am a muggle-born, I get teased by Malfoy and his stupid posse who wouldn't last a day without him.

I wander around the hall, since I have a free period, and run into Malfoy. I just try and ignore him, but he trips me as I walk by. I crash to the ground, hurting my knees and elbows. "Watch where you're going, !" Malfoy says. I just look up at him. "You tripped me, you know that?" I retort. Thing is with me, I was sorted into Hufflepuff, but I am Gryffindor brave. "How dare you talk to me like that, mud-blood!" he yells at me, and walks away. "Say it again. I dare you!" I state, getting a grip on my wand. Malfoy turns around and says it, "Mud-blood" he says, right up to my face. That was it! I got my wand out and held it at the end of his throat. "If you ever do that again, I will hex you" I threaten. He runs away, or attempts to. I trip him. "Payback" I said, walking away, laughing with glee.

"Wow" Cedric said, obviously in awe at the story I just told him. "I know, I totally kicked his butt" I say. "I would be proud of myself if I were you (y/n). You even intimidate a Slytherin. A Slytherin." Cedric says. I smirk. "You are sometimes so much like the Weasley twins" Cedric says. I roll my eyes. I am really good friends with the twins, and they are alot of fun.

"Not again" I think to myself. I see Malfoy walking by me. A muggle-born and a Hufflepuff, you're pretty much asking to get teased by a Malfoy. He trips me as I walk by. Cliché. "Mud-blood. You should clear way for you superiors, not crash into them" he lectures me. He can really get me mad sometimes. "Oh, am I making you mad? Oh, why do I care?" He says. "Hey!" I hear a voice behind Malfoy, to see Cedric. I smirk. I take a few steps towards Malfoy, then punch him in the face, breaking his nose. I see the blood gushing out of his nose like a geyser. "There's a hell of alot more where that came from" I say, as he runs away.

"Nice punch" Cedric compliments. He watched me nail the punch on Malfoy's face. "Thanks" I say proudly. "That Malfoy should know better then to mess with you by now" Cedric says. "Maybe can't get it through that thick skull of his" I say, probably being true. We both laugh. Suddenly, out of the blue, Cedric kisses me. "What was that for?" I ask him. "You're the greatest girl I know, and I would love if you would be my girlfriend, (y/n)" he says. Instead of answering, I kiss him. "Now, what do you think my amswer is? What about Cho?" I ask. "Broke up with her a week ago" he says, putting his arms around me. Perfect end to a perfect year.
