Chapter 38

- One Month Later -

Today was a special day.

1. it's my first official night in my new apartment,
and
2. it's Joe and I's 6 month anniversary!

Already half a year. It went by so fast.

I arrived at my apartment in the early morning. It still smelled like fresh paint.
It was quite small, but perfect size for one person.
It had 1 bedroom with an ensuite with a walk-in closet, a small, cosy living room, a kitchen, and an office.

The living room and dining room are the first things that you see when you walk into my apartment. My living room walls were white, as well as the couch. I had a grey rug under the small couch and a glass coffee table with a few succulents and magazines. In front of the table, I have a small Apple TV, which I have yet to set up. I probably won't be watching actual TV, just Netflix. the remote even has a Netflix button on it.
The dining room was kind of the divider between my kitchen and my living room.

Joe was coming over at noon, and it 11:45 right now.
My stomach growled, so I went to my kitchen to get a quick snack. I soon realized that I didn't actually have any food since I haven't gone shopping yet.
"damn." I whispered to myself. I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I took it out.

1 new message from Josephine

I let my phone discover my finger print, logging me into my phone. I clicked on the message,

just out the door, be there in 10 x

I smiled, then had a thought. I texted him back,

can you pick up some Nandos pleeeeaaassse?

with some added heart emojis.

Joe then texted me back a minute later,

Sure :)

I smiled, texting him back quickly,

Thank you

with a few more heart emojis to show my appreciation.

I took the next few minutes trying to set up the TV. I was sat in front of it, reading the manual. There were multiple cords all tangled up in front of me. There was a knock on the door, and I instantly jumped up, excited to see Joe. I unlocked and opened the door, revealing a very handsome boy in a cute jean jacket, holding a nandos bag.

"Hi!" I smiled, letting him in and closing the door behind him. "Hello, you." Joe said, grabbing my waist and pulling me in for a kiss. Into the kiss, I felt something prickly against my lip. I pulled back and gasped. "Aw! You're growing stubble!" I squealed, running my thumb above his Cupid's bow. He pushed my hand away and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah." He mumbled. "Joe," I smiled, cupping his face, "you look hot." I said, kissing him again. "And you look beautiful." Joe smiled back at me.
We pulled apart and I took the nandos bag from him, walking to my kitchen and putting it on the island.
"Welcome to my humble abode!" I said, spreading my arms out to my sides. "It looks really good with furniture." Joe said, walking in. I nodded, smiling, "I'm really happy with it so far." I said, opening up the nandos and getting the food out.

I went to my cupboards, stretching up to grab 2 plates. Joe came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "6 months, baby," He whispered, kissing my cheek. I smiled, placing the plates down, turning around and kissing him. "6 months," I sighed happily. Joe leaned down and kissed me again.

"I love you." he mumbled into the kiss.
"I love you too."

I resumed with bringing out the plates, and placing out food onto it. "Can you help me set up the TV?" I asked. "Mhm." he mumbled, eating a fry.
We sat down in front of the TV, eating our food and trying to figure out how to set it up.
Eventually we got it working after we finished out food, so we sat down on the couch and I set up my Netflix.
