Like Nothing Happened

Jennifers POV

I woke up to my alarm going off. I don't remember what happened last night then it hit me. It literally hit me when I felt the shockwave of pain shoot through my face.

"Mhmm... Oh god..."

It hurt way worse than before. I woke up crying because it hurt so much. I was still in yesterday's clothes. I changed as quick as I could and I had to try to do my make up. I definitely didn't want to eat today. I grabbed my bag and just headed out the door. Leah is gonna be picking me up any second. And right on time, her car appeared down the street where she dropped me off last night.

I grew happy and a smile appeared on my face. I almost ran to her car I was so happy to see her. I got it and immediately gave her a hug and then sadness swept over me and then I wanted to cry remembering the pain.

"Good morning my cutie, did your dad do anything last night? Here look at me."

I looked down and she pulled my face up and her expression changed. She was angry yet sad.

"He punched you didn't he... Ugh that fucking bastered!"

"Baby I'm OK really I'm fine. I just want to rest."

"You don't deserve to be hit baby! You can still see your bruise on your face even with so much makeup on! He hit you so hard... And I wasn't their to stop him..."

She started to drive to the school. I held one of her hands and intertwined our fingers.

"I tried closing my door before he got into my room. It didn't work..."

"Baby I'm so sorry I couldn't help you..."

Tears started to well up in her eyes.

"No baby no it's not your fault... I knew you wouldn't be able to stop him even if you tried..."

I hated getting hit, I was the one getting hit. I wanted to end it last night but I knew he wouldn't listen.

"Why can't you tell the police..."

"Leah he's my father..."

"I wouldn't just be treated like a bean bag though... No matter how much I knew and believed my father was good..."

A tear fell from her eyes and I whipped it away.

"I love you..."

"I love you too"

A smile appeared on her face and it made me happy.

The past two and a half months went by and it was my last few minutes at work before my fall break began. I didn't mind having work, I enjoyed it. I got money to survive and it saved my life, literally from my own father. Maybe Leah is right... As much as I live him, the pain is getting too much. I have been sleeping over at Leah's on the weekend and getting to know her sister Shannon.

We have gone bowling and carnivals and movies. It was always the best weekend but I would get it when I got home... He has been harsh on me and it's so much to take in now... I was fine with it but now I'm not... Leah was coming in a bit. We started having dinner at the diner after my shirt so I could eat. I have gained 10lbs. New record.

"Alright, I'm don't for the next two weeks."

"Man you have to be gone that long?"

"Yup, don't worry, I will come visit."

"OK, be safe girl."

April game me a hug before I left.

"I will, you too."

April is a girl I work with and we have actually talked more and became closer. But not best friends close. I haven't told her about my dad or my girlfriend who's a teacher... Well soon-to-be girlfriend. I'm asking her over break when we go to the lake. Yup were going to the lake!

Leah's POV

I locked my car and walked into the diner and spotted Jen immediately. I smiled and walked over to her and sat down.

"Hey, how was work?"

"It was good, I'm just tired now, we were busy. How was your work?"

"It was boring until I got to see you. Then It got boring when u left."

I smiled and looked through the menu. We ordered our food and we got some time to talk...

"Hey Leah?"

"Yes Jenny?"

She always smiled when I called her by my that and she would turn red. I giggled and she fell to a serious tone.

"So... I've been thinking a lot about... My dad and... Telling the police..."

"Jen if you don't want to do it then-"

"I want too..."

"Are you sure?"

She nodded at me. I knew this wasn't gonna be easy for her to do.

"When?"

"After break ends... I will go home and take the pain, next day I will go to the police..."

"Do you want me with you?"

"Yes..."

I wish I could hug her so tight right now but I can't because we are in public. I wanted to kiss her and hug her and hold her into my chest.

"I'm always going to be here for you."

She smiled and our food came and we both dug in. We changed the subject and we were laughing. We should be out in public together but tagging Shannon Along made it look like she was my friend and Jen just happened to be her daughter and my student. We have been getting close lately to getting caught. Students seeing us outside of school. Then Jennifer would go up and explain that whole thing with Shannon. Teens believed anything now a days.

We went to my house and we didn't even turn the lights on and she set the stuff down and to the stuff out of my hands and pushed me against the wall, kissing my deeply. We haven't had sex yet but I can tell she wants too. I most definitely want too. I moaned into her sweet lips that were now against my neck.

"Mmm Jen, watch the hickeys..."

"Oops, too late."

My hand rose to the back of her head, my fingers tangling into her hair. That sensation sent chills through my body and I moaned louder. She came back to my lips, kissing me and I kissed her deeply back. I was kind of scared to have sex because I haven't been with a girl till now. I was hoping that if this went that far that I would do it right. She was getting stronger and more brave to doing stuff like this. I actually hope she keeps going and keeps her braveness because I don't want to stop now.
