The smell on alcohol, smoke and of course weed was all around the house. It smelt absolutely terrible and I just wanted to get out of here. I've been sitting in the same seat I had first sat in for the past thirty minutes, like a loner since Joseph ditched me for Luke.
For the whole time, I just kept my eye on those two. I didn't want anything bad to happen, like if Luke starts to be mean to Joseph and they get into a fight. But it seemed like everything was going well, they both were laughing and smiling the whole time they were together.
Finally getting up from the seat, I made my way to the backyard. There was a bonfire outside where people sat talking -most of them were making out but yeah-, I didn't want to go near them, I just want my own time to myself. Leaning against the railings, looking up to the night sky. I really wanted to go home and wondering why I came here in the first place, yeah it was for the plan but I have done nothing for it and nothing will happen.
As I stood leaning against the railings, someone came and did the same. They were so close to me, our arms were almost touching each others. Hesitatingly I turned my head seeing who it was, and when I did, I saw it was a girl who was quite short. She had short brown hair, green eyes that shone in the dark and looked beautiful.
"Sorry for just like randomly standing next to you," she said still looking out at the night sky but soon turned and faced me. "I'm Nancy by the way." she placed her hand in front of her, signally for me to shake it which I did.
"It's okay," I told her, "I'm Josie." still shaking her hand but let go soon later.
We stood there in silence again, it was quite awkward for me since I didn't know what to say or do, but it was probably awkward for Nancy as well. I wondered if she was from my school, if she was I have never seen or heard of her before and I felt bad right now.
"So I heard that you are lesbian?" Nancy randomly said. This made this ten times more awkward, saying that I was lesbian randomly. But this obviously meant she was from my school.
"Um yeah I am."
"I am too." Nancy smiled as she told me that. Smiling back at her, I honestly didn't know what to say. Did she want me to do something? I wasn't sure.
I thought about what to do about this. Nothing I came up with was good, and I needed one as soon as possible. It felt bad not saying something after she had basically just came out to me. But all I could think of was about her being lesbian.
"How long have you've been lesbian?" I asked her genuinely quite interested.
"For two years. Probably more but I came out two years ago." she looked down at her hands as if upset. I grabbed onto her hands to comfort her, she looked up at me giving me a small smile saying she was okay, but I knew she wasn't really.
"If people were and still are being rude to you, just tell me I'll show them a piece of my mind." Nancy chuckled and shook her head.
"Thanks I guess."
Nancy and I spoke for awhile after that, we spoke about whatever that came out. She was pretty cool to talk to honestly, she also had a thing for funny cat videos which I did too. I learnt so much about her from tonight, like I went from not even knowing she existed to being so close to her.
"I love cats so much," she said, "You don't know how much I love them. It's like impossible to love cats that much but for me it is."
"I love food more than the average human, so I understand," I said making both of us chuckle. There was silence now, we both were just looking deeply into each other's eyes. Her green eyes were so beautiful, I was jealous of them.
