Darned Fire

Don't die...don't die!

I told you that you cannot die

To leave me in this darkness where the awaking creatures lie?

Light yourself, you darned fire!
Get back into my soul!

You are all that I have ever loved,
without you there is nothing more.

I rely on you, you darned fire,
But I am sure you already know

That without you present in my belly
My soul is alight no more.

My passion for you has been the direction
In which I have run for through most my life's actions

The hours I have put in, the sweat I've secreted
The painful injuries I've endured, because you were ignited!

Alight again, you darned fire! Electrify my body
Tell me how to place me feet
How to unleash my passions, set them free

For now I feel that you have diminished,
And my drive to do what you have told me is finished

I am left alone in this unknown abyss
That forms in swirls of blackish mist

The moment in life where you, darned fire, have vanished.
