Chapter 6: {i recommend listening to "Let it Go" by James Bay while/before reading this}
Anna hadn't even realized she had been crying for so long until her nose began to run.

"But... i... i love him" Anna pathetically reminded herself as she blew her nose into a tissue.

Anna's head hung low as she walked into the bathroom. She didn't want to see the damage in the shattered mirror above the rusted taps of the sink. Anna ran her slim fingers across the metal faucet. She ran some cold water and let it pour over her hands before cupping them and letting them fill with the Ontario water. Anna took a deep breathe, then with a flick of her bony wrists she splashed it onto her face and watched the rest flow down the drain.

She slowly rose her head and ran the back of her nails along the purple and blue bruise on her eye that matched the love bites down her neck and collarbone. She patted her face with a towel and left the bathroom.

Anna opened the fridge door to find nothing but a half empty jar of mustard. Her stomach rumbled as she remembered the last time she ate... two days ago. She made her way to the cupboards. empty.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anna turned on the radio before plopping down on the sofa with the half empty jar of mustard.
A song began to play that could make anyone feel at ease.

From walking home and talking loads
To seeing shows in evening clothes with you
From nervous touch and getting drunk
To staying up and waking up with you

Anna remembered back when Travis would pick her up from University. They would walk for hours, sometimes they would talk non stop, other times their walks were more scenic and beautifully silent. Either way, they were hand in hand and falling hard for each other each walk home.

Anna's flashbacks stopped when she had realized she had fed herself the last of the bitter tasting mustard when she heard the metal spoon collide with the bottom of the glass jar.
The song continued;
But now we're sleeping at the edge
Holding something we don't need
All this delusion in our heads
Is gonna bring us to our knees

She scraped up the last of the yellow condiment angrily. When she felt tears swelling in her eyes once more, She stood and threw the jar across the room hitting a wall and shattering it. Her tears stung the bruised cut along her eye.
Anna had barely heard the apartment door open and shut through her sobs. Before she got the chance to turn around, Travis grabbed her wrist and turned her around to face him. Not rough. But gentle. "I- " Anna was cut off when their mouths collided. She figured this was Travis's way of saying sorry. And even after all that happened, Anna had already forgive him until their lips brushed & their tongues collided with passion. His touch was soft unlike his words, that were so sharp.
When Anna pulled away, she made the mistake of opening her eyes and seeing not a single trace of love in his.
The song continued;
So come on let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me
Everything's that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me

"I have to go." was all Anna managed to spit out before shoving past Travis and out the door.
