I was in that endless state of blankness when Lana strolled into my room, a smile painted on her face.

"Hello, Ethen," she said, grinning wider until her white teeth showed.

"You never say hello to me, Lana. Get to the point."

"One, you need to start working on your personality, and two, would it kill you if you replied?"

"Yes."

She rolled her eyes, "Whatever. Nate is coming today from his two-day business trip and I wanted to inform you that we're going out."

"Are you taking my permission?"

"You're going with us, and you should bring your fiancé."

"She's busy," I lied.

"I'm sure she can manage-"

"No."

"Is there something wrong?"

"When am I going to meet him?" I changed the topic purposely.

"In an hour."

I nodded, "Alright."

She grinned then pulled me into a hug, "You're awesome," she cheered.

"I know."

"And an egocentric jerk."

I watched in utter disgust as Lana and Nate showed their affection for each other.

I mean two days can do this to them? Really?

He kissed her forehead before muttering a couple of words that made her blush like crazy then held her hand in his and finally faced me...her eyes on their interlaced fingers.

"Disgusting," I muttered before my eyes focused on the menu.

"We get it, you kept on saying the same word for the past five minutes," Nate said, rolling his eyes and shifting closer to Lana who surprisingly stayed silent.

"I heard you're getting married," he stated.

I nodded.

"Wow," his eyes almost popped. "And where is she?"

"She's busy."

"What's her full name?" Lana asked.

"Rose Smith," I replied blandly, watching as her mind registered the name in.

"R-Rosabella Smith?" she asked, her fingers tightening around Nate's.

"Yeah, do you know her?"

"No, I'm just familiar with the name."

"So how did you two meet?" Nate questioned.

"Long story."

"Good luck, man. Women need a whole lot of attention, you can't even-" he slowly turned his head towards Lana while she removed her arm slowly from his chest after she forcefully nudged him. "And why did you do that?" he asked her, a smirk making its way to his face.

His arm snaked around her waist and slowly pulled her towards him. She smiled sneakily at his cheap attempt of a serious face before inching closer to his face. Their eyes locked as her body kept crawling closer and closer.
