Ciel opened his eyes to the bright white light of a full moon. Ciel felt his hand empty, and, when he looked to the spot where Sebastian should be, there was nothing. There was no dent in the bed from Sebastian's small weight. There was no blood staining the bed with its vile and perturbing shade. There was no trace Sebastian had been found and brought to the room.

Ciel sat up immediately. Shock and anger startled the sleep from him like a buzzing alarm. His anger was fueled by frustrated disbelief. He balled his hands into fists. He smashed his fists against the bed, and, as his mouth opened to let out an angry growl, a quiet voice broke through the hostility.

It was silky, and smooth, and faint. It was a voice like the moonlight that delicately streamed into the room, "Shhh, close your mouth and put that anger away. You'll disturb the night."

Ciel closed his mouth and turned to the voice. A small figure sat on the floor under the moonlight. His skin was sickly pail, and the blood made a disturbing contrast against the white of the bandages and his skin. Ciel blinked at the sight, pale form against pail moonlight. Ciel's eyes clouded with nostalgia, "Sebastian..?"

Ciel lowered himself off the bed and onto the tips of his feet. He walked quietly over to Sebastian, careful not to make a single noise. Whether he did it so Sebastian wouldn't be scared away, or if it was out of subconscious obedience to him, he couldn't say. In the moment however, it didn't matter. Ciel walked over and sat next to Sebastian on the floor. His eyes were locked onto Sebastian with happy disbelief, yet Sebastian looked emotionless out the window at the lonely moon.

Ciel lifted his hand to touch Sebastian, but something about the peace and stillness of Sebastian caused his hand to freeze and fall. Ciel took in a deep shaky breath and it shocked him how loud it sounded against the silence of the still night. But Ciel forced himself to break the night's silence, "You should be in bed. You need to heal."

Sebastian stared off dazed. The moon glinted perfectly off Sebastian's dark eyes, "You remembered."

Ciel frowned, "Excuse me?"

"I had given up our memories as lost to you, but you found me. You found me in the basement, in one of our memories." Sebastian still looked at the moon with longing, even as he spoke to Ciel.

Ciel bit his lip in hesitation, "I tried to forget."

"I know," was Sebastian's simple response.

Ciel continued to look at Sebastian, "You are not running away... But will you, when you can?"

Sebastian shook his head.

Ciel looked at the moon, questioning what Sebastian saw in it. Unable to see anything, Ciel turned back to Sebastian, "Why did you leave?"

"I have already said why."

"Why do you hate Lizzie so much?"

"I do not hate her. I simply dislike her... I do however detest the idea of you marrying her."

Ciel frowned, "Why?"

Sebastian didn't respond.

Ciel closed some of the distance between him and Sebastian and turned to look out the window as well. "I am not exactly fond of the idea either, but you seem more upset than me."

A sad smile cracked in Sebastian's face, "I may be a child. I may have lived many thousands of years, but my memory is intact. Especially, memories with you. Those are engraved into me."

Ciel sat there next to Sebastian in guilty silence. Then, Ciel's eyebrows furrowed, "These seems familiar... We've done this before."

Something flashed through Sebastian's eyes, but Ciel wasn't able to recognize the emotion. Sebastian spoke without breaking his gaze at the moon, "That sounded more like a question."

Ciel silently brewed on it. He then smiled, "No, we have done this before. Not here, though. We would hide under my study room desk and watch the moon together. I remember. I would sneak out to get you. I was the evil little mastermind behind it. I was the one who started our nightly excursions. I started the hiding under the desk, the watching the moon. I even started... the kissing. I started the us sharing a bed. I started it all. Then, I forced myself to forget..."

That was when Sebastian finally broke his steady silent gaze at the moon. He turned to Ciel and looked Ciel in his big glittering blue eyes. He really hadn't changed. He was still the same Ciel. If anything, he was just slightly larger and apparently more brainless.

Sebastian's eyes, in those moments he looked at Ciel, were happiness bathed with the pail loneliness of the moon. Ciel cupped Sebastian's small face in his hands.

Ciel's breath wavered, and his heart resounded its fear throughout Ciel's head. Ciel ignored it all. He ignored Lizzie and the wrongness of what he had done and was about to do. He pushed the world aside and focused on that moment that was being overseen by the moon and bathed in its consenting light. He ignored every thought except one.

Ciel kissed Sebastian. His lips pressed warmly against Sebastian's, and Sebastian welcomed the kiss. Their lips remembered each other. They're lips remembered the love the pair held for each other. They're kiss was warmth and it burned away the darkness. It was a sweet kiss of memories and the feeling a great wrong had just been righted.

But while the darkness may have been burned away, its soldiers of shadows still hunted and preyed. Even though, one large old wrong had been righted and killed, burned and had its ashes thrown to the wind so it could never be recognized. One was birthed. A monster to be crowned King of Wrong. King of Tragedy.

As they broke away from the kiss, the shadows fell in, and the monster flashed its fearsome teeth in an evil bloodthirsty grin.

Sebastian looked at Ciel. His eyes sparkled and there was a smile on his face. Ciel looked at Sebastian with his sad eyes full of longing. Sebastian looked away from Ciel's eyes and looked at his lap. Sebastian let out an uneasy tired laugh, "I can't stay."

Ciel's heart dropped. His mind tried to pull a sensible thought, but even in the farthest corners there wasn't one. He stumbled and tripped over himself as he said, "B-but... you said you... you said you wouldn't leave. I-if this has to do with Lizzie, I only agreed to it to... to keep myself away from you. I know I can't have anything to do with you, so I agreed on the marriage to make myself realize... I am not supposed to love you..."

Sebastian smiled, "I'm surprised you know what love is..."

Ciel sat, next to Sebastian, wordless and confused. Brainless.

Sebastian pulled Ciel back into focus, "I can't stay. We made a deal that I'd get you your revenge. I can't die before then..."―a tear rolled down Sebastian's cheek―"but I don't want to see you die either..."

Ciel pulled Sebastian onto his lap, "Why would you die? What are you talking about?"

"The wounds aren't healing. There isn't enough magic in this body to heal them completely. It's only prolonging my inevitable death..." Sebastian hid his face in Ciel's chest.

Ciel wrapped his arms around Sebastian's small form, "How do we get your magic back."

"Each form holds is only able to hold a certain amount of magic. This form holds very little, and I'm too weak to turn into my true form."

"Then change out of this child form!" Ciel grew frustrated again. He could feel the shadows closing in.

"I am bound by the contract to this form. The only way I can be saved at this point..." Sebastian trailed off unable to finish.

Ciel spoke in a distantvoice as he finished the statement Sebastian couldn't, "Is to get the revengeand consume my soul." Ciel looked at Sebastian in his arms. After all thoseyears, he was to lose him again. Ciel caressed Sebastian's face comfortingly, yet he himself, in that fadi
