~Tiger Fan
I think I watched my lover die,
I watched the light fade from his eyes,
The eyes that once stood still for hours,
just to find the perfect flowers,
We began each day with a text,
and imagined about what could be next,
I never once, saw the clock,
I never once, heard the it's "tock,"
but then one day, on a summer evening,
I noticed his eye was no longer gleaming,
I watched the light fade from his eyes,
I even heard his first lies,
Never, I thought, was I ever more ill,
Never, I thought, would I swallow this pill,
Deep inside, I knew in my heart,
I would no longer be the art
At first, for sure, I thought it'd be me,
that I would be the one lost at sea,
but then, the day came and past,
the one I thought, I would never last,
for the pain I felt out grew the feeling,
that I was the one who brought him meaning,
I was finally able to treat the pain,
but I could never, get him out my brain,
all aside I surely died,
but then the day came where I realized,
"'twas not I," I said, and sighed,
'twas my lover who said his goodbye's
The choice was mine, to live on or free,
the choice I made, shocked even me,
Freely, I live with a beating heart,
Freely, I live with on with art,
Although, I find, I return to the places,
the places where we kissed each others faces,
And to the pier where you stood near,
"I love you," are the words I hear,
I pay my respects and deepest regrets,
'twas his goodbyes, caused the biggest hit,
Love that is felt, surely never dies,
so you should never expect dry eyes,
I'm convinced, I did not die,
I watched the light fade from his eyes,
Although, today, I will not lie, my eyes still remain un-dry,
'twas my lover...was the one that died...
