Chapter 16

I decided to be Nico for Halloween. I took this picture and I really like it, except I forgot to take off my glasses. Anyways, enjoy this chapter.

When Nico got to his cabin, he immediately shadow traveled away.

He was going to the Underworld, and he was going to stay with his father for the night.

Well, he probably wasn't going to see his father, because he was just going to stay in his room and not come out.

Hades would probably realize that he was there. Hopefully Hades will won't try to talk to him.

When he got to his room, he just sat on his bed for a minute.

Then he put his face in his pillow and screamed.

Of course Will doesn't want to be my friend, Nico thought. I'm such a horrible person.

After about a minute or two, Nico decided he wasn't that bad of a person. He had friends that liked and cared about him.

He decided he still won't go back until morning.

" I can't believe I said that." Will said, his face also in a pillow.

"Well, that happens." Lou-Ellen told him.

"Nico's gonna hate me forever, and he'll never talk to me again. "

"Well maybe you shouldn't have told him he was a bad friend." Cecil said, laughing, not being as serious as the other two.

Then Lou-Ellen laughed " Cecil! Stop joking around! Today will ruin Will's life forever!" She yelled, acting dramatic.

They all laughed, even Will.

"Shut up." He told them.

" Will." Cecil said, more serious now, " if he wasn't such a good friend to you, why don't you get over him?"

Will sighed. " I can't just get over a crush that I had for years. And he needs someone to be there for him, and I finally got my chance."

"Okay, why don't you apologize at the campfire tonight? "

"Okay, that's a good idea."

Nico kept reminding himself that he had friends that wanted him to stay.

There was Jason, and Reyna... Hazel, wait, no. Nico was pretty sure she wouldn't care. He tried not to think about it.

Would Percy and Annabeth care? Most likely.

He wondered if Will would care.

Absolutely not, Nico thought.

He tried to ignore the sadness that crept up on him.

Nico knew why it had made him sad, but he chose to ignore it.

I do not have a crush on Will, Nico repeated in his head over and over again. He wouldn't stop until he believed it.

It didn't work.

He definitely had a crush on Will.

Will was looking around for Nico when they arrived at the campfire.

He momentarily stopped to see Jason coming towards him.

" Have you seen Nico? " Jason asked, very worried.

That meant Nico was definitely not here, and Will will have to wait until the next time he sees him to apologize.

But when would that be, Will thought, it could be years before he comes back.

" No." Will told Jason, the sadness slipping into his voice.

" I wonder why he left. He said he would stay." Jason said, obviously sad.

Jason walked back to the others as Will watched.

"Great job" Will told himself " you made his friends sad too"

Later, as everyone else was singing those silly songs, Will just sat there thinking.

Will thought about what he wanted to happen. He wanted Nico to show up, now. Will wouldn't even care if he shadow travelled right in the middle of the song. Then Will would at least know that Nico was safe.

But that never happened, and Will continued to worry.

Will tried to ignore the feeling of his heart breaking.
