Bruce's POV:
After the initial act of waking up it took a long time for me to become aware of my surroundings or form coherent thoughts. All I could do was remember those eyes and how the man had defeated the 'other guy'. He won. And somehow I remember every single detail. The pain, I realized later, was caused by the wound on my shoulder as well and the transformation. It's hard to go from small to big and even worse turning back into myself. I groggily opened my eyes blinking in discomfort at the sudden stream of light. As my eyes slowly became accustomed to the brightness I saw that I was laying on one of the crisp white beds in the med bay and Steve was sleeping in a seat right beside me. I appreciate the gesture but I wish it was Tony waiting for me to wake up not Steve. The Captain was very nice but it was hard having a conversation with someone who has no idea what the heck your talking about 85% of the time and vice versa. I felt a pang of worry for my 'science bro' as Tony had taken to calling us and I felt a sudden urge to jump up and check on him. This of course was crazy as I myself am injured and need to rest for a while before I can heal properly. How long have I been here? Just as I had decided to wake the supersoldier up, Natasha came into the room followed by Clint, waking Steve in the process.
"Bruce your awake! Finally we were beginning to worry." Steve exclaimed
"How long was I out?" I managed to whisper. It was hard speaking right after a code green, expessially because I was wounded and am in pain. Not to mention, my throat is extremely dry.
"About a day and a half, it's 2:48 p.m. Sunday the 11 of October. What do you remember?" Natasha replied slowly.
"Everything." I groaned shocking them all. "The man walked into the room right after you guys left, I actually turned expecting it to be one of you, but instead it was a black garbed assassin in a freaky skull mask. I immediately began fighting the other guy for power, something in those sea green eyes triggered it. His eyes.... I think they are part of the reason I remember. Anyway, I transformed and charged, roaring loudly. He ran toward me as well and executed a flying leap onto my back.-"
"That's when we walked in!" Clint interrupted. I gave him a withering glare and continued,
" the 'other guy' tried to grab him to smash him flat but he dodged and brought his blade down on my shoulder. It goes fuzzy after that, I think he knocked me out. The next thing I remember is waking up for a couple minutes sometime after being knocked out but I lost consciousness almost immediately due to the pain of my wounds."

No POV:

"Well the assassin who fought you is The Black Serpent, he is the best of the best. Before this nobody knew anything about him except that he was amazing and he spray paint's a black serpent next to all his victims. Frankly, we didn't even know if he was male or female. He cropped up around three years ago but he didn't start interfering with my work until a few months ago. That's when he started killing my targets before I got a chance to. Sometimes that was fine, but other times I had planned on interrogating the target before terminating them. We lost a ton of valuable information because of him. Despite that, he still is my hero of sorts. Anyway, after taking you out he turned ready to slit Tony's throat and leave, but we were already there. He told is who he was only after demanding to know who we were and then asked what Tony's name was-"
"HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW TONY'S NAME?!" Bruce whisper-screamed (due to the condition of his voice).
" Don't worry, Pepper put him in his place. After hearing her her scream and rant he looked near tears, wich I found odd. He's a heartless assassin and yet there he was, about to cry and in front of his victims. Then he said something like "I won't do to you what was done to my girlfriend and I, Tony is safe. My deepest apologies and to make up for my terrible intentions I will protect everyone and anyone who is in this tower, so long as they remain inside. I swear on the River Styx.' He then disappeared into a poof of mist.
" impossible! " Bruce said, "nobody can disappear! It's not possible!"
"Bruce I hate to remind you but you turn into a giant green rage monster when you get angry, you can't really defend that argument."
Bruce's face blushed red. "Oh" was his meek reply.

"Do you think The Black Serpent will really protect the tower and those in it?" Steve asked warily
" Captain of America, you as well as almost all in this room heard the oath the black garbed figure said. Why question his intentions?"
"Thor, I hate to say it but promises can be broken."
Thor's deep laugh filled the room and made the others very confused.
"I forget how ignorant you midguardians are of things around you, even those on your own planet! I am unable to share the details but know this, an oath on the River Styx is the most binding of oaths. Should it be broken only a god would survive the backlash, and at a terrible cost. Such was the case when The Bi- never mind."
" what??! Tell us. We are a team, don't keep valuable information from us!"
"It is not my secret to tell, and either way, it is quite likely my idea was incorrect."
"If you can't tell us names at least tell us a little about what you know!"
"Fine. But after I speak ask no more questions,I will not reveal anything more. Three years ago, a great hero from this land went on a quest with six companions and a g- I mean chaperone. They faced countless hardships and the two unofficial leaders, the boy and his girlfriend, fell into what is the equivalent of hell. Down, down they fell and they were not seen again for two weeks until they met their companions at the doors of death which is where the boy told his cousin to meet them. The boy and girl were both severely wounded and mentally scarred but still they led on toward their enemy who would rise in Greece. They fought many terrible foe with the gods on their side and won, barely, but the true enemy had risen and went to attack their home. The gods threw them all the way to long island where a great battle was raging between their friends and family and a giant hoard of monsters led by the evil that rose in Greece. The friends of the travellers where split in two groups and before the monster army attacked they had been fighting against each other. Luckily they were able to bring their forces together against the monster army, one side being led by the boy, the other by his friend. They charged the army but the resulting battle was far from pretty. Hundreds of monsters and warriors alike died that day including six of the seven questers. The boy was alone and after the love of his life was killed in front of him he snapped, utterly destroying their enemy. He was broken and asked to leave. With much reluctance the remaining warriors and gods let him go after giving him multiple blessings. He disappeared and as far as I know hasn't been seen since. Oh and I forgot to mention the warriors who fought in the battle? None of them were over the age of seventeen." With that Thor stood and strode out of the room leaving awestruck teammates behind.
"Ho-how?"
"Did you understand a word he said?"
"T-thats impossible"
"b-but, how?"
"gods?"
