"Hey guys." Zayn smiled as he walked into the waiting room. Harry, Louis, Liam, Maddie, Niall, and Diana all stood up and asked how everything was.

"Is she okay?" Was the first thing Louis asked. Everyone else was bombarding Zayn with questions.

"Okay guys. Mer's fine. The baby however... Almost... Didn't make it. It had stopped breathing for a while. But then he came back, our little baby Phoenix came back." Zayn said smiling while tears rolled down his face.

"That's amazing, congratulations man." Harry said.

"OH MY GOD! THATS SO CUTE!" All of the girls said at once.

"When do we get to see him and Merry of course!" Louis asked wide eyed.

"Well I think you guys can see Merry, but Phoenix was taken away into special care, they said maybe just for today, you'll get to see him soon.

"Let's go see Merry!" Liam said excitedly.

"Only three at a time, doctors orders, and mer is still a little tired. Who's first?"

"Maybe you should go and two of us should." Niall said.

"Yeah." Everyone said in agreement. First was Louis and Harry.

"Oh Mer bear I'm so proud of you! You did great!" Louis walked quickly over to Merry to kiss her on the forehead.

"Thanks, Tommo." Merry smiled.

"Phoenix is such a beautiful name, and fits so well." Harry smiled down at Merry.

"Thanks hare-bear."

"That's a new one!" Harry said happily.

"Yeah it's way better." Merry smiled back.

"Daddy, I think we should let Diana in before she explodes..." Louis said giggling.

"Alright. Congratulations again guys." Harry smiled as they walked out.

"OMIGOD MERRY IM SO HAPPY YOU AND PHOENIX ARE OKAY!" Diana said rushing in.

"Such a wonderful name!" Niall said.

"Yeah, Zayn picked it out." Merry said tiredly but happily.

"GUYS HURRY UUUUP!" Maddi shouts from outside the room.

"Alright, see you guys later!" Niall said walking out with Diana.

"Diana?! Are you okay?!" Niall shouts.

"Ha, yep! I fall a lot, don't worry!"

"God damn it you scared me... Before you die from tripping on your self again, just know that I love you." Niall smiles at Diana.

"I love you too Ni." Diana said kissing Niall sweetly.

"OUTTA MAH WAY LOVE BIRDS. HI MERRI OMG AAAAH!" Maddi said running into the room.

"So basically, she's excited that your okay and she likes babies." Liam said chuckling at his girlfriends inability to form a sentence.

"Thanks guys..." Merry said half asleep.

"Madz, maybe we should leave them, Merry needs some sleep."

"Well... Okay..." Madz said.

"Don't worry, I'll be home soon bitches." Merry said.

"And she's back." Zayn smiled.

----3 days later----

Zayn heard Pheonix crying and rolled over. He got out of bed and walked over to the crib, picking him up. "Shh, love. The others won't be very happy if we wake them up again, will they?"

Pheonix stopped crying and stared at Zayn as if he knew something that Zayn didn't. Zayn smiled and brought him to the changing table to check if he needed a new diaper.

He was dry, so Zayn bit his lip and picked him up again. "You hungry then?"

He brought him to the kitchen and warmed a bottle, bouncing him the whole time. Phoenix just stared.

Zayn smiled. "You're a smart little baby, aren't you?" Zayn removed the bottle from the microwave and placed it up to the baby's lips.

Pheonix opened his mouth and sucked viciously. Zayn grinned and sat down in the living room, feeding him. "You're so cute. I would've woken up Merry so that she could breastfeed you, but we are all tired and Mommy is really cranky when you wake her up, so this is better. You have her eyes, you know. That's the first thing I fell in love with when I saw her. I'm so happy to have the both of you."

Zayn held one of his fingers out and Phoenix grabbed on. "You're going to be a strong one, I can tell. Just like your mother. You don't cry much. Thanks. Why are you looking at me like that? I love you too, you miracle baby. I hope you're not crazy like your mother. She's always asking me to do weird things with her. And I hope you have a good relationship with my friends. They love you already. Maddie and Diana already tried to steal you."

Phoenix stopped sucking on the bottle and slowly shut his eyes. Zayn smiled softly. "You tired now? You're right, We should probably get some sleep..."

When eight o'clock rolled around, Merry woke up and didn't see Zayn or Phoenix in the room. She shook her head and slid out of bed, making her way to the living room.

She sighed and smiled. Zayn was sitting on the couch with Phoenix in his arms. Phoenix was wide awake, just staring at Zayn.

She picked him up and went to get a blanket and pillow for Zayn. She went over and covered him up and then pushed him to the side so that he was lying down.

Zayn immediately jerked up and looked around frantically. "Where's Phoenix?!"

Merry placed a hand on his chest. "Nothing happened. I have him, see?"

Zayn visibly relaxed and went to lie back down. "Oh, okay."

Merry put a hand on his neck and forehead. "You alright? You're not sick or anything?"

Zayn shook his head. "No. I'm just tired. Phoenix is such a good baby, Mer. I can talk and he just stares at me as if he can understand every single word out of my mouth. I love him. And you..." He pulled the blanket over himself and sighed in content. "I love you too."

Merry felt her heart warm and she blushed. "I love you too. Now get some more sleep. You have to be up for work at 12, right?"

He nodded. "Yeah. And you're such a great mother, Mer..." Zayn dozed off and she smiled, going into the kitchen to start breakfast.
