Making Amends

I had a major hungover after last night. It was starting to go away. I had drank lots of water & tried to clear my system. I couldn't stop thinking about who I saw at the club last night though. It was Brianna! And she had that girl Chantel with her! And I swear they saw me & Nick together! What if one of them spills the beans? I put on some sweats. I need some air. And some food. I opened the door & as soon as I did, I saw Brianna standing right there...Speak of the devil. I guess I should talk to her about last night. That is, if she will even listen.

"Melanie! I was just coming over here to talk to you." She said.

"Really? I thought you never wanted to talk to me or see me ever again." I said.

"I didn't. But then...last night. I saw you...And Nick Jo-

I covered her mouth & pulled her inside."

"Shh...someone could've heard you!" I said.

"Right. Sorry. But that's what you've been hiding isn't it? That's what you couldn't tell me! You're dating Nick Jonas aren't you?" She asked.

I sighed. "Yes Brianna...I'm dating Nick Jonas. And I wanted to tell you but-

"I understand. It all makes sense now. That's why you were acting so weird. And that Dante guy...that was Nick wasn't it?" She asked.

"Yep. That was him in disguise." I said.

"I knew it!" She yelled.

"How could you have possibly known that?"

"Well I didn't know know but like I kept thinking to myself there was something weird about him. You know I was a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers just like you. He sounded like Nick Jonas. Well he sounded like Nick Jonas attempting to do an impression of a black guy. Plus his face looked weird. Now this clears my suspicions. I wasn't crazy."

"Nope you weren't." I said.

"Oh & remember when we saw Nick at that restaurant? That's why you didn't freak out! You two were dating so you had already seen him a bunch of times! Man that must've been pretty awkward."

"Yeah it was pretty awkward but yeah. That's exactly why I didn't freak out."

"Wow. Who woulda thought?"

"Right? But you don't know how long I've been wanting to tell you this. It ruined our friendship! And that's why I went over your dorm to tell you the other day. But you were too busy with your new bff. I heard what you said..."

She sighed. "Look, I said some terrible things. I was angry. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. There's no excuse & I wouldn't blame you if you didn't forgive me. Even if you made me mad I didn't have to take it as far as I did. I really am sorry."

I smiled. "I forgive you."

"And Chantel is not my bff. I just met her. I've known you basically my whole life. You'll always be my bff no matter what." She said.

I smiled. "So that means...we're besties again?"

"We never stopped! Now bring it in girlfriend. I missed you." She said holding her arms out.

I smiled & hugged her. Then I pulled away & my face grew serious. "Now Brianna, you have to promise you'll never tell anyone about this! Ok!? Especially not Chanel!"

"Chantel. And I won't tell her. Promise."

"Good cuz if you tell Channel I'll never forgive you."
