It's Christmas

It's Christmas! I mean it was Christmas when I went to bed but now everyone's up. We sat in the living room by the tree. It was so cute watching little Alena open her gifts. It eased my nerves. Joe told me the song was great. I let him listen to it this morning. He loved it. I just hope everyone else feels the same. Especially Nick. Everyone opened all their gifts. Nick got me a Victoria's Secret fragrance set & some earrings. Best boyfriend award goes to him. I knew he was wondering where his gift from me was. I was so nervous but I took a deep breath & stood up.

"Ok everyone! I got a little surprise for you. I wrote this song. It's for Nick but I figure you all can enjoy it to. It's the story of how Nick & I met & fell in love. I thought it'd be the perfect gift for you since you love music so much. Joe helped me come up with the idea." I said smiling.

Joe smiled.

I got up & walked over to the piano. I sat down. I took a deep breath & started to press on the keys.

When I finished, everyone applauded. Nick looked like he was trying not to cry. It was so cute. I'm so happy he liked it. That's all that matters. I got up from the piano & he immediately got up & ran to me. He picked me up & swung me around.

"So I'm guessing you liked it." I said giggling.

"I loved it. It was beautiful. Best Christmas gift I've ever gotten. Thank you so much baby. I love you." He said.

"I love you a thousand times more." I said.

He kissed me & then put me down.

"I'm the one who came up with the idea! Where's my kiss?" Joe asked.

Nick sighed & walked over to Joe.

"Thanks buddy, love you man." He said patting his back.

Right as he was about to walk away Joe stopped him.

"Ehem!!" Joe said while pointing to his cheek.

Nick sighed & gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Everyone laughed.

"How adorable! I'm sending this to Aunt Addie!" Theresa said.

"What!? Mom! You took a picture!?" Nick yelled.

"Well of course I did! How could I not?" She asked.

"Mom...give me the phone." Nick said.

"Why? I already sent it to all my contacts & posted it to Instagram!" She said.

"You didn't..." He said.

I took out my phone to check. She really posted it.

"Look! It already has 203 likes! Someone commented 'aw #goals how cute' with heart emojis." I said showing him my phone.

"Mom!!!" Nick yelled.

Everyone laughed.

"Aw lighten up Nick. We look so cute together!" Joe said.

Nick rolled his eyes.

"Alright time for our Christmas Family photo!" Theresa yelled.

"I'll take the picture." I said.

All of Nick's family looked at me & laughed.

"Ha...haha..." I said pretending to laugh.

They continued to laugh.

"I don't know what's happening...what's so funny?" I asked Nick.

"Oh Melanie...you have so much to learn." Nick said.

"I'm very confused right now..." I said.

"Anyone we let into our home for the holiday is officially part of the family which means you all have to get in the photo! Come one everyone! Fall in!" Theresa said.

Kevin picked up the camera & set it on the stand directly across from the Christmas tree. We all got into position & then we smiled. Kevin pressed the button on this remote thing & we took the picture. We took a couple. After the pictures were done, we all helped choose the best one. After that, the adults stayed in the living room for a few drinks & snacks. The kids played downstairs. I can't help but feel like singing that song to Nick has made him feel closer to me. I mean he hasn't stopped looking at me. Every time I talk, eat or even just breathe I catch him staring at me. Not in a weird way though. In a loving & admiring sort of way. He took me out onto the terrace so we could talk & just have some alone time.

"I really loved your song. It really took me back, ya know?" Nick said.

I smiled. "That was the idea. I was gonna try & come up with a holiday song but I thought this would be more special."

"And you were right. It was special. It made me love you a million times more than I did before & I didn't even think that was possible."

"Aw Nick..." I said blushing.

"I wanna make love to you." He said looking right into my eyes.

That caught me off guard. My eyes widened.

"You what?" I asked.

"I...I wanna make love to you. Maybe not tonight because it's Christmas & I'd feel like super guilty about it. But tomorrow..soon." He said grabbing my hand.

"Wow...this is...not like you." I said.

"I'm sorry...I-

"I like it. And I wanna make love too. We go back to LA tomorrow." I said.

"You can come over to my place. As long as Joe doesn't show up, it'll be perfect." He said.

"Somehow he always finds a way." I said.

"Which is why I took the initiative to get the locks changed. He may have a key, but it won't work since I changed the locks." Nick said with an evil grin.

"Well look who's gone bad." I said laughing.

"That's right baby. I'm a mad man. Don't mess with me." He said.

I giggled. "Okay bad boy, what's next?"

"I say we stay up past 12 am tonight! Although...we have a really early flight & I'm gonna have to drive so...maybe that's not such a good idea. Definitely sounded better in my head." He said.

I laughed. "You're a mess. Come on. Let's go inside. It's getting chilly."

He nodded & walked me in. Everyone was still having a good time. Nick & I decided to bake some cookies for everyone. Danielle helped of course because Nick wasn't the best in the kitchen. The cookies turned out great & we all enjoyed them. Even the kids got in on the action. This is by far the best Christmas ever. I've never been so happy. Merry Christmas to me.
