Chapter 2

     No P.O.V.

     Their father looked over at Gilbert with a furrowed brow and stern glance.  "Come on boys vere leaving." Their dad said taking a gentile yet purposeful hold of Gilbert's arm as Ludwig followed them to the car.  "Let go of me" Gilbert snarled, annoyed with his father for grabbing his arm in the first  place.  "Excuse me young man but I vill do vhat I vant." Their father said in a deep husky tone that made Ludwig look to the ground, and Gilbert stopped talking soon after that.  The family got into the car and their father almost immediately started conversation with Gilbert again.  Gilbert had taken passenger seat and Ludwig was in the backseat drivers side.

     "Sorry Gilbert but I just vas a bit stressed back there, I didn't mean to grab jou like zhat.  Jou just veren't paying attention to me and it vas serious."  Their father said with a not so sympathetic voice.

     "Yea, sorry about zhat I vas just a bit in a daze jou could say."  Gilbert said in a almost neutral tone.

     "So boys just to lay down some ground rules for now, I vould have to say that Gilbert can choose vhere he vants to sleep."  Their father said with a bit more emotion.  "Veather zhat vill be in zhe living room, our spare room or vith Ludwig.  I give full access to him for now, until he gets comfortable."  Their father concluded.

     "So zhat means bruder can sleep vith me if he vants" Ludwig smiled from ear to ear hoping he could share a room with his brother.

     Their father piped up, "Only if he vants to."

     "Danke for zhe offer but I might just take a spare bedroom for zonight."  Gilbert smiled looking back at his little brother.  "Just wait till I get settled in zen I vill see about sleeping in jour room."

     That made Ludwig's eyes widen in surprise, maybe after a few days they would share a room.  Maybe not share a room every night, maybe just every once in a while, but it was still better then nothing.  "Really zat vould be nice danke Gilbert."  Ludwig said with the same excited smile he had since this whole conversation started.  Their father on the other hand decided to let them talk, as he stayed mostly silent the duration of the car ride.

     "Okay boys ve vill be home soon and I vould like you boz to behave, and be nice to ze maids."  Their father said making it sound like he was talking to both of them, but the general message was directed at Gilbert.  After a few more minuets they pulled into their massive driveway, the large home was just barely visible over a hill at the end of their lengthy driveway.  Their father pulled into the middle slot of the 3 car garage and on both sides of them were expensive cars.  More expensive then Gilbert has ever hoped to see, let alone know someone that owns them. 

     The truck next to them on the right was huge, much bigger then the SUV they were driving.  It had a slick black body with silver accents.  The interior was basically invisible though the almost black tinted windows.  It looked like it had hardly been used before and it's model was defiantly from either this year or last years.  The car to their left was smaller then the one they were in but it looked just as expensive.  A silver Audi with chrome accents and a barely visible black leather interior, which was hard too see through the tinted windows of the car.

     The three of them get out of the SUV and their father lead the way into the mudroom from the garage.  Their father took his jacket off and hung it up on the rack, followed by Gilbert who then had to help Ludwig hang his jacket up because he couldn't reach the hangers. 

     "Excuse me, but I don't have any stuff here, vhat am I going to vear?" Gilbert asked his father looking down at his mismatching socks.

     Their father just smiled and looked at him "vell you do now. I had a maid go to jour house and grab most of ze zings zat were in jour room." He said in a bit more of a cheerier tone then this mornings.
