The Band Room

Chapter 1

Music. Music is all that Byun Baekhyun has. It is all that he has ever known. Music is what drives him through his life. Singing is his passion and music is the one thing no one can take away from him. He didn't have any friends, since he had recently moved and decided it was best not to make any friends, considering what happened at his last school with his so called "friends". He was known as the outcast of the school, but he didn't mind. He was left alone by everyone and that's just the way he wanted it. Until one day, this strangely awkward yet adorable boy walked into his life. How? Well it all started when Baekhyun was sitting in the band room singing during his lunch period. "Remember geudaega himdeul ttaenayeon hangsang..." he sang with full emotion as he felt the music soar through his soul. He continued singing, "It's my turn to cry naega halgeyo. It's my turn to cry naege matgyeoyo." He had almost finished the song when he heard a shuffle from behind him. He quickly paused the track that was playing and turned around swiftly. His eyes met with those of a taller lad who had a wide smile on his face as he said, "You have a beautiful voice." His deep voice sent chills down Baekhyun's spine. Chanyeol chuckled at the cute boy in front of him as he stuttered out a thank you. Chanyeol sat beside Baekhyun and said, "Hi. I'm Chanyeol." smiling widely, same grin. Baekhyun gave a slight smile and introduced himself as well before asking, "How long have you been listening?" To which Chanyeol rubbed the back of his neck, before informing the older that he had heard him singing outside the door and walked in as he had started the song. Baekhyun blushed and looked down, ashamed that someone had heard him sing. Just as Chanyeol was about to say something to continue the conversation and keep it from getting awkward, the bell rang. "Uh.. I um..  I gotta get to class, I guess i'll  see you around?" Baekhyun spoke, unsure of himself but was reassured as he saw the younger nod before exiting the band room. Baekhyun hasn't forgotten that day. He will never forget that day. It was the day that he started seeing the light.
