The Band Room

Chapter 5

Baekhyun had only ever seen Chanyeol smiling and happy, so when Chanyeol comes in the next day with tears in his eyes, Baekhyun is overwhelmed. Baekhyun rushed over to the younger boy and hugged him. Not asking any questions, just keeping his arms around him as he cried on his shoulder. The two stayed like that for a while, silent. Then Chanyeol managed to whisper a question to his hyung. "Sing for me?" He asked, feeling the older nod before asking what he would like him to sing. "The song you sang the first day." The younger stated, and Baek began singing. Chanyeol seemed to calm down as he heard Baekhyun's voice. Soon the bell rang signalling that lunch was over, however neither moved. They simply brushed off the fact that the bell had rang. Baekhyun lead Chanyeol over to the stage, and both set down in their usual spots. "Sing with me?" Baekhyun asked Chanyeol handing him his notebook filled with lyrics. "It isn't finished, but it's something." The older stated as the younger grabbed the notebook being held out to him. Chanyeol sat Baekhyun's notebook in his lap before reaching around grabbing his backpack, unzipping it, taking out a notebook and handing it to Baekhyun. "Maybe some of these will help?" He stated and the older smiled, beginning to read the lyrics that had been written on the pages. "These." He claimed once reaching a certain page. "They fit perfectly." Baekhyun stated earning a slight smile from the younger. Baek then got up and retrieved a guitar from the band room storage before returning to Chanyeol and handing it to him. "Follow my rhythm, okay?" He asked making sure Chanyeol was okay to this. As soon as the taller nods, Baek starts singing the lyrics. Chanyeol caught on and they soon filled the band room with a beautiful melody. When they finished the song they had both co-written, Chanyeol spoke up for the second time, "What should we call it?" Baekhyun smiled slightly before answering, "Promise."
