kenzie's pov

"boarding flight 126, boarding flight 126" the lady over the speaker said

" that's my flight I have to go" I said to my family nearly in tears

"ok kenz we will miss you, Skype us every day" my mom said

I hugged both my parents and my sister Audrey good bye

once I boarded the plane the flight attendant sat by me because im a minor. I put  my head phones in and turned on some music. so I guess I should explain my self my name is Mackenzie peters and im in a band with my best friends Katie Smithson, becca hart, and sky Montgomery. our band name is mini mix (AN:copied off of little mix) and we are headed to Miami beach music academy. we had to take separate flights because there can only be two minors flying with flight attendants per flight, and the other minor on mine seems to be a 12 year old boy playing on his Gameboy. I live, well used to live in California but now ill be staying in dorms at the new school. my best friend Katie got there a few hours ago and becca and sky will get there an hour or so after me. im 14 years old and its the start of the new school year, im a freshmen this year

*after flight talking on phone to Katie*

" I cant find our room" I said

"its like you go threw the gate then up the stairs three times then turn right or was it left-"

"can you just come and find me"

"but if I leave the room we both will be lost"

"fine ill just ask someone-" I said right before walking right into someone

"im so sorry" I said stepping back

"no its my falt " he said " I hear you need some help finding your dorm"

"yeah I do" I said

'' whats the number I can help you" he said

"257" I said

" oh yeah I saw that one a girl in adventure time pjs dragging a huge suit case into it, I think that's your room mate, good luck"

"haha that's Katie alright, shes my best friend"

'' oh sorry I didn't mean it"

"its ok its true im actually in a band with her and two of my other friends"

"that's cool, im in a band with my two brothers" he said " can I take your suit case"

"sure are we almost there ive been on a plane for eight hours"

"wow where are you from" he asked

"California" I said " oh my name is Mackenzie but you can call me kenzie"

" my name is toby, and here we have your-"

'' oh I found it!" I yelled unlocking the door "Katie im here"

"I thought you would never- woah you have been here five minutes and you already have a guy"

" Katie this is toby" I said " toby this is Katie"

" hi nice to meet you. uh when are sky and becca getting here " Katie asked " we are supposed to perform later tonight"

" they should get here in an hour and a half"

"my bands playing later tonight too" toby said "do you want me to leave so you can get unpacked"

"im almost done" I said tacking a one direction poster to the wall and kicking my suitcase in the closet "done!"

"what do you want to do we have an hour and a half to kill" Katie said

'' we could go to the courtyard" toby said

"ok" me and Katie said simultaneously walking out the door

" uh Katie you might want to change " I said pointing to her adventure time pjs"

"be right back" she said closing the door

"do you want to see my dorm" toby asked " but I warn you my room mate is... different"

"haha sure" I said his dorm was about five doors down from mine

" toby I was wondering what shirt I shou-  hello my name is Vinnie and yours is?" tobys room mate said

"kenzie and this one" I said pointing to the blue one with DNA strands on them

"are you new here I haven't seen you before "

"yeah I got here not that long ago" I said right before my phone buzzed it was a text from Katie where did you go?

"katies ready. we have to go but it was Nice meeting you Vinnie" I said

"you too kenzie see ya later"

we started walking down the hall to my dorm

"told you he was weird" toby said

"not that bad there are some pretty interesting people at my old school"

"you can tell what side of the room is mine and wich is his, mine has posters of musicians and his has scientists"

"there you too are you ditchers" Katie said walking with us

"sorry we went to meet Vinnie" I said

"who is that"

"my room mate" toby said

we got to the court yard

"wow there are a lot of people here" I said

"tobs!!! my man wow already got two girlie friends" a boy that looked a few years older than us. him and toby started wrestling

a blond haired boy that looked even older yelled "and riley wins" I guess the boy toby was pinned down by name was riley

"not fair " toby said standing up brushing the grass off of him

"hi, my  name is connor" the blond boy said

"hi im kenzie and this is Katie" I said pointing to her

" and im riley"  the guy toby was wrestling with said " we are tobys brothers"

"oh in the band, toby told me about you guys" I said

"have you heard our music" connor asked

"no" I said

"well are you going to the back to school concert" he asked

"yeah we are playing in it too"

" wow you are in a band who is in it''

"Katie, me, and my other two friends becca and sky"

"do you want to get something to eat before the concert" toby asked

" sure" we all said

we all had lunch at the Miami beach café while waiting for sky and bacca to arrive. the waitress was a fake blonde with too mutch make up on and was hitting on connor the whole time.
