" Dylan it's time for bed " I yell out to my 6 year old son, who is most likely hiding from me

I walk around my one story home picking up all his toys that he just leaves everywhere

" Look mommy I'm a cowboy " Dylan says in excitement. I look up at my son who is now dressed up as a cowboy and I can't help but laugh

His brown hair sat messy on his head, and his blue eyes were filled with so much energy. He looked a lot like Cameron

I still never got the chance to tell Cameron about our son, but it's okay because me and Dylan are doing just fine. Sometimes he asks about his dad and I just tell him that he's gone. And as he grows older he will actually start to wonder, and I will tell him when it's time. I will tell him about my life in high school and about how he came to be. I just hope he's not mad at me for it.

But it's not like he doesn't know his dad, he watches him on tv every week.

Turns out Cameron made it big, he's the youngest baseball player in the league, but the best. He's expected to be in the Hall of fame soon

I also heard that he got married to some Victoria secret model, and is expecting twin daughters soon

Turns out we both got the life that we wanted, a happy one

Dylan is my everything, and I wouldn't wanna have my life any other way

I smile at my son. He reminds me of all the good in my life and I am so blessed to have him here

" You are a cowboy, but be a cowboy in the morning because it's time for bed Dylan" I say as gently as I can

" Fine I'll go to sleep, but only if you promise to read me a bedtime story" sassed the little cutie pie that I call my son

I smile at him

" Deal, go change for bed and I'll be in there in a second" I say, and Dylan runs off in response

I pick up the last of the toys and place them in his toy chest. I cut off all the lights in my house, and walk into his room

" Ready for the bedtime story?" I say, grabbing his favorite book off his shelves

He's tucked into bed with his bedtime clothes on ready for me to read

"Ready" he cheers with the thumbs up

I sit by his bed ready to read

" Once upon a time, lived a brave prince named Dylan. Dylan was the bravest of them all, he wasn't scared of anything" I start with the story

I read, and read until Dylan is asleep. Usually he falls asleep in the middle of the book so he never gets to see how the book ends.

I place a small kiss on my sons forehead before turning on his night light, and turning off his room lights. I close his door all the way before walking to my room

This is my life. It's just me and my son and I like it that way. I often think of Cameron and how things could have turned out different, but then I open my eyes and realize I have everything and more.

Our love was an extraordinary story, and unlike Dylan you know how my story ends. So this is it, this is my story

The end.
