No one could understand how it happened but suddenly monsters were surging past the barrier at New Rome. They had teamed up and broke through the wall of skilled demigods to attack the inner city.

It took a while but word finally reached Camp Half-Blood. They sent help straight away, and helped campers back to their safe haven. Nothing was getting past their barrier since it was backed by the power of Zeus himself.

Nico was riding on a pegasai with Piper. Jason flying around them. They were the only two who knew about his new crush, Will Solace. And that was only because Piper sensed it. Nico wasn't happy at all. For one thing, Aprodite's other kids could do the same thing and secondly, his crush was on Will. Will!

Nico wasn't too sure how it even happened, maybe it wss because Will literally followed him around for months, monitoring him to make sure he wasn't doing anything Underworld-y or maybe it was the fact that Will just couldn't be hated. He was too happy, and bubbly and seemed to brighten anyones mood. Either way, Nico was stuck. Again. And he hated it.

"Nico," Piper starts tentively, sharing a look with Jason, "there's something we need to tell you."

Jason was gliding steadily beside them now, also looking at Nico almost anxiously. Nico frowned at the two of them, "What? What's wrong?"

"The monsters at New Rome have taken..... hostages." Piper says gently.

Nico almost falls off the horse, "Hazel?" He panics.

"She's fine, she helped fight them off." Jason assures him.

Nico is weary now, "Just tell me." He insists.

The couple share another look. Nico quickly grows impatient, "You're not gonna like this, Nico," Piper warns.

"Remember the recent swap between the camps?" Jason asks.

Nico almost rolled his eyes, what has this got to do with it? "Yeah,"

"D'you remember who went?" Piper prompts.

At this point Nico suspects that neither of them want him to lose it while they're in the air. That's probably why Jason is flying dangerously close now. Nico remembers all right. He couldn't go because Will was worried that the strain of travel would make him sick. Look who's laughing now, Will.

Then it sinks in. Will went.

Nico can basically feel all the color drain from his face, "Oh gods." He whispers. "They have Will?"

Their silence is all he needs. With a rising fury Nico spurs the horse faster. The pegasai nickers, but zooms even faster anyway. Piper clings to his shoulders, almost flattening herself to him due to the speed. Right now Nico doesn't care. Besides, her flying boyfriend is on stand-by anyway.

When they landed at Camp Jupiter Nico went straight for the Preators Frank and Reyna. He barged right into their meeting with all the leaders of the Cohorts. Including his sister. Jason and Piper trailed after him, trying and failing to calm him down.

"What the Hades are you all standing around for?" He snapped. "Those monsters have campers are you're all in here doing nothing?"

"We're not doing nothing." Reyna said calmly, not even surprised with Nico's abrupt appearence. "We're going over stratergys. Facing the monsters head on have failed so we need to be sneaky."

Nico could feel his anger climbing, "That won't work if the monsters can sniff us out. We smell like meals to them, so hiding won't work."

"We've used that stratergy many times in battle and it hasn't failed us yet." Michael Kahale said, his voice held an edge.
