-Luke's POV-
Lost in my own thoughts I was ignoring Ty who was rambling on and on about what had happened despite all of us being there and witnessing it ourselves. I let out a low growl when I'd had enough, my head throbbing from todays 'excitement'. I had finally found my mate, but apparently the moon goodness loved a good joke. "She's insane and a werecat-" Tys voice cut into my thoughts again and I let out a growl instinctively, not liking him insulting my mate though I thought the same. "Hurry up." We were heading back to the pack house in Tennessee, every weekend we'd visit different states, the most eligible unmated wolves allowed to come and try to seek out their mates. Of course when I finally get mine she's amazing, until she starts having a mental breakdown. "Fuck man." My head fell into my hands, my elbows propped up against my knees. The truck was silent at my words, apparently apathy worked better than anger at shutting them up.
"Maybe the alcohol just wore off, she's a were cat maybe she finally realized what we are and got scared and that's why she wigged out?" I knew Ty was trying to comfort me but it did little to help. I glanced over with a look that just said 'shut up' and the truck was dead silent again.
I glanced at her face and felt my heart race at her beauty. She was drop dead gorgeous though she could be a rock and I'd be helpless to think any differently. I'd looked forward to mating, I'd looked forward to that love but now i dreaded it.
