My mother, like always, showed them all of my baby pictures and all of my soccer and softball pictures. I do have to admit i was not a bad looking baby, what has life done to me? The last picture was me, my mum, and my dad at my dads band before he was a CEO. The day i sang, "Always The Love Song" That was one of my favorite memories with my dad. My life was actually good till my dad became the CEO of a publishing business. Before he was a CEO, he was a music writer. He wrote a lot of songs for celebrities. He decided to quite the music business and go into publishing. He made good money at being a music writer but now he makes twice that. He makes at least ten million a year, it decide on whether or not people are buying the books hes publishing.

I know that girls my age will be all happy and preppy because they're rich, not me. I don't care for my dad money, I never did. I wasn't selfish to be like that. Sure I would want something every once in a while but I never asked. My dad would ask me what I want all the time and I would always say "Nothing" or "Food". Everything else he got me, he gave it to me for birthdays or Christmas. He recently bought me a lab top when he told me he cheated on my mum. I took it because I was in need of one but I still wanted to bash it into my fathers head.

"Oh my god, Miranda you were so cute when you were little" Brooke exclaims. I smile and nod.

"Like, for real, you were the cutest little baby ever" Madison smiles, looking down at the picture. I don't remember when that picture was taken or where that was at. I always just looked at the picture and "remembered" that time.

Most people look down at me or giving me benefit of the doubt. It gets old. My uncle (my dads best friend) always said that people only give other people the benefit of the doubt because they understand what you are going through. I miss him.  I miss how things were, even if my dad never cared or payed attention to me. I still miss the days.

"We better get going" Brooke smiles, lightly tapping me on the shoulder.

I look at my phone. 3:23

"What time is the fire" i asked.

"Around like 6 but we need to get everything ready" Madison replies. Flipping her hair around.

"Well you girls have fun and be safe" my mum grabs me in for a hug.

"It was nice meeting you Mrs. Day" Brooke says. My mom only smiles back (which is 100% fake) and say "it's nice to meet you too" then went back to the leather black couch.

I walk out the door with Brooke and Madison following. I had my charger in my gray and black jacket pocket and my wallet in my other pocket. Never leave the house unprepared.

"So where are we going" I asked, meaning which street to walk to.

"First I need to go get my hoodie from Calum's" Brooke answers.

"Holy shit fuck" I say.

"That's what I said the first time Brooke told me but don't worry the worst thing they do in front of company is hand jobs under neath a blanket" Madison, I just want you to know there some things I don't want to fucking hear and that's one of them.

"You can tell" Brooke raises her eye brows. We exit the building, walking down the main, busy street.

"Nah the constant moaning and blanket moving is just me fucking myself" Madison says giving Brooke the "your fucking retarded" glare.

"Well then, this will turn out splendid because Luke might be there. Great.." I sigh. Luke Hemings is just a god. He's so utterly perfect it's almost unbearable. He makes you feel important in a weird way.

We turn right, and that's when I first see the beautiful apartment buildings with the shimmering lights. I smile brightly. This city can be beautiful at times.
