Jasmine

"That's a beautiful ring, sweetie," my mother lifted my hand up, admiring the rock that is secured to my ring finger on my left hand. Indeed, it was beautiful. Light shines from every angle, and it felt perfect on my hand.

I remembered always looking at my mother's engagement ring. It was a princess cut diamond, with a think band. A very simple looking engagement ring, but extraordinary in my mother's eyes. I secretly wished someday someone would buy me a ring.

"It looks special," my father commented.

"A special ring for a special girl," Benjamin replied back, giving me a kiss on the temple.

"Congratulations to the both of you," my dad smiled at me, kissing my forehead and shaking Benjamin's hand.

"I'm so excited!" My mom grinned as she kissed both of our cheeks before heading to the dining room table.

All of our relatives are gathered here to our home to congratulate us. It was a fancy dinner so everyone looked sophisticated in their outfits tonight.

"I hope this dinner turns out well," Benjamin chuckled before giving me a chaste kiss on the lips.

Benjamin was wearing a white long-sleeved, button down shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows with khaki slacks and leather shoes. I wore a white cross halter neck dress that has a flaring skirt that reaches down to my knees. I wore tan heels and my hair was in a french braid. I promised Benjamin to not overboard my make up, I don't even overboard my make up, since he doesn't like it when my face was covered up.

"Jasmine!" Benjamin's younger sister came in with his other two siblings. "Can I see the ring?"

I laughed before showing her, which made all of them gasped. "I want a ring!" Benjamin's second sister pleaded.

"You're too young, kiddo," Benjamin laughed at her. She gave a little pout.

"Can I sit next to you at the dinner, Jasmine?" She asked again.

"No," Benjamin's other sister commented. "She's the fiancé, she has to sit next to her husband to-be," she clarified.

"Dinner's ready!" Benjamin's mom shouted from the dinner table. Benjamin took my hand and made our way to the middle of the long table, in between Benjamin's mother and my mom.

"They look delicious, mom," I commented as I looked towards my mother, which she replied to a thank you. Benjamin was gentleman enough to pull a seat for me before he sat himself down.

A second after we started eating our dinner, our families started to talk about our plans.

"Where are you guys gonna get married?" One of my aunts started to ask.

I looked at Benjamin before answering her, "we're planning to do it here and in the US."

"Two weddings?" One of them asked. "Isn't that expensive?"

"Money isn't an issue," Benjamin dismissed.

"How about the honeymoon?"

"We're gonna travel the world," Benjamin answered.

"Isn't that gonna be a hassle?"

"We're gonna hire someone to make us an itinerary and we're gonna rent a private jet," I answered.

"That still sounds like a hassle to me," I heard them whisper.

"How many kids!" She exclaimed instead of asking.
