There was a knock at my door. I opened my eyes to see light coming through the window of my wooden desk. I had fallen asleep and completely missed dinner. It was almost time for breakfast, so I rolled out of bed and quickly changed hiding my dirty laundry not even bothering to throw it down the laundry shoot in the wall next to my bed. I flipped the ned up and then answered the door.
Mr. Bilden stood outside, with a girl next to him. She was short with brunette hair and freckles. There was no sign of her being blind. She just looked up at me with blinking green eyes.
'This is Augusta. Augusta meet Tatiana.'
'Hello,' I said to her.
She replied with a greeting and then stuck out her hand which I was sure to shake. Behind him Mr. Bilden was pulling a cot on wheels that Augusta was going to use until she was moved into a room.
'Come on in then,' I said to her. She steppe forward. I noticed now that she had a long cane for feeling around.
'Ok,' she started. Mr. Bilden had set up the cot and was walking out, he nodded toward me.
She must have heard the door close.
'Ok so, I have to explain some things to you. About my condition, I mean. People often misunderstand and give me more help than I need. I really don't want that, for both of our sakes' she finished.
'Ok. Explain.' She felt her way over to the cot that was between where my bed would be, and the rocking chair, and she sat down.
It didn't sound like I was going to have to do as much as I thought I would. Thank goodness.
