The Man In The Moon

I know what it's like to be human.

Sometimes you feel weak, like you can't do anything.

But

then you see the strong tides at nightfall,

and you think

"I did that".

I see you in your lightest and fullest

moments, strong and bright.

I reflect you at night.

Sometimes you feel like

you can do anything,

reach anything.

Hug the sun or

float to the diamonds in black air.

But then you fade out every night.

You aren't seen.

You are a rock under clouds. Then

suddenly,

when everything is black and there's

no hope,

you strike a match.

Flames bounce back.

They dance upon your face and everything is

seen once again.

You have these imperfect perfect craters that make you who you are.

And these holes are little rocky scars. They say

"you made it".

So tonight, talk to the moon.

I know what it's like to be human too.

So therefore,

I will always shine

just

for

you.
