~Mason's POV~

"Hey!" I called out as the lithe form of Luc Jagged hopped yet another fence.

We'd been searching on my pack's territory for almost two weeks now, and still no sign of Cassie. The time i had to win her back was running out.

By the way, Luc Jagger is the man I met the night I walked home from the club. He claimed to be Cassie's uncle, and was searching for her and her family after being seperated from them by lack of communication.

Even though he looked nothing like Cassie.

Even though his scent was nowhere near similar to the Taman's.

Even though I'd overheard a couple of of his phone conversations, in which he said he was close to "finishing the Tasman twins."

Either way, I needed to find Cassie. And fast, so I could win her back before it was too late.

"We'll sleep here for the night," Luc said in that dark velvet voice of his. I looked over at him and saw him pointing to a large patch of moss, a couple yards outside of the Wilson Pack's property. I sighed quietly, but didn't even think of complaining; two black eyes, split lip, one broken rib, and two broken fingers had seen to that.

Luc lay down about ten feet form me and fell asleep instantly, but I knew it was a light slumber and that even a twig snapping a half-mile away would awaken him. I fell asleep soon after, exhausted, and the unease of another pack's land forgotten.

"Wake up, princess," a sneering voice called out from above me. It had a slight Irish accent. I opened my eyes just in time to see the foot flying at my face. It landed on my jaw with a painful thud. I groaned as I recieved another kick in the ribs.

"I said get up, pretty-boy. Alpha wants to meet his unexpected guest."

I looked up and saw a man of around eighteen glaring down at me. He had short, spikey red and hard green eyes. His skin had a light dusting of freckles and a pair of dog tags stood out on his shirtless chest.

I got up quickly and followed as he jogged on in an unknown direction.

"Don't even think about runnin'," he called over his shoulder. "I'll kill ya." My eyes narrowed at the threat, but I ran directly behind him.

Where was Luc? Did they catch him too?

No, there was no way he'd be caught. He most likely took off when he heard the pack patrolling the borders. Bastard.

We'd only been running a few minutes when a large, cabin-looking, home came into few. I saw a face peeking out of one of the top windows. It dissapeared quickly, but not before I caught a glimpse of a pair of familiar hazel eyes...

Cassie was here? No. She wouldn't be. Couldn't. But still...

We stopped running as the door opened up and out came the guy! The guy from the club!! Then someone else stepped out. I gasped when I saw...

~Cassie's POV~

"Cassie," Casey whispered to me. "Stay inside."

I shook my head. Inside was boring! I looked and examined the 'Intruder'.

There was no other way to put it. Mason looked haggard.

He had dark circles under his eyes, and those were enhanced by half-healed black eyes. He obviously hadn't shaved in a while; he had a decent amount of beard growth. Not attractive on him, either. Only Casey could pull off stubble...
