Chapter Six – |The Moon's Slaves|

M A R I N A

This was the best dance, yet I danced with Darius for the most 30 minutes straight, but finally we were getting hungry. As a group, we picked an empty table not far from the buffet of all the various styles of food depending on our species. The multiple three leveled towers of food were lied out. The rich aroma of the exotic foods beckoned me. You can't resist the delightful goodness. My mouth was watering with anticipation. I instantly start munching on the seaweed treats.

Soon after eating, I was indulging in my sixth drink. I knew it was a lot, but these drinks were irresistible. Everything was slowly fading; I sat on Darius's lap, holding him, resting my head on his chest. When the time slowed down, as I heard the screaming of pain.

My face contorted, I was startled, though my reaction is late. I noticed what was happening; teenagers were transforming into their wolves.

"Shit!" I mumbled underneath my breath. I realized why I was in this state of torpor. Tonight was a full moon.

"What's wrong angelfish?" Darius asked with genuine concern, but it was too late; by then moon had reached its highest peak. I was now a slave to the moon.

This was the best dance, yet I danced with Darius for the most 30 minutes straight, but finally we were getting hungry. As a group, we picked an empty table not far from the buffet of all the various styles of food depending on our species. The multiple three leveled towers of food were lied out. What the-

The pain throbs in my guts, its deep and warm, but not in a nice way. I let out a strangled scream and feel blood well into my throat from the tongue I had just bitten through in vain attempt to keep quiet.

What's happening to me?

The familiarity of yellow eyes coming from the forest caught my attention as I was leaning against the tree in pain. "What's happening to me?" I walk like my limbs don't really belong to me. Everything hurts now. Every damn thing.

"The moon is a very important symbol to us supernatural. The full moon to be precise. Witches show their true nature. Wickedness. As much as they try to be good, it doesn't last when the full moon hits." The Co-Headmistress, Miss Powell, reveals herself. The attire is still flamboyant and bold.

A luxurious over white bust corset, made of an off-white dupioni-silk, secure around her chest. It was simply beautiful with black the fan lacing. My body felt as if I had been bruised in every corner. My legs felt shaky and could not support my body, yet my head was the only thing that was feeling heavy.

"Don't get me started on those mermaids. They are like puppy dogs to that moon," she looks up at the moon, rolling her eyes. The red cape of hers was blowing in the calm winds.

I could feel my head spinning ultimately I fell onto the floor my jaw clenched I grabbed a fistful of my hair pulling on it this helped to ease the pain.  My muscles feel as though they have been flash-burned with acid from the inside. I can feel my cheek getting wet with tears.

"Ah and the werewolves. Children of the moon, how cheesy huh. I see my sis was really bad with choosing the dance's date or was this on purpose."

I feel the bones split into an untold number of fragments as my mind becomes blank.  Apparently I screamed, but I don't recall that part, only the pain. "Please!" I scream in agony.

"Oh please stop asking that stupid question. Remember Julia!" she kicks me in the stomach with her neon red studded design black pumps, throwing me onto my back. I got a clear view of her black fishnet stocking from under her ruched skirt in soft eggshell white.

The pain commands my attention. My head ached, and my shoulders ached, and my lungs ached, and the anklebones of both feet ached.

"What's happening to me?" I screamed once more.

"Remember! Remember what happened after the test. Remember!" she yells at me, kicking me once more. I collapsed to the floor, skin bubbling and bones transforming.

Murderer

A term used for the people who have committed murder; a kill.

He's dead.

"Julia," the Headmistress spoke. "You really are special."

The stench of fresh blood still filled my nose. My hands were shaking badly still. I was looking down at my clean hands still mentally seeing the blood flowed thickly over my fingers, cold. The sound of the heart is dropping to the floor with a thud repeating in my head.

"Just shut up! I killed someone. How is that special," I argued.

"But you can see him still, can't you?" I didn't have to look at her to know she had a smirk on her face.

He stood in front of me with an open hold where his heart used to lay inside. The bloodstains the white button t-shirt he was wearing before. He no longer had the aura of strength and authority. There's nothing. His emerald eyes were lifeless and still held no emotion.

"I see you got me, little girl," he spoke. My lips are trembling as I struggle to speak.

"You did, and that's why you're special dearie. You can see the dead." Headmistress explained.

I was to occupy with a dead Julian walking over to me. He sets his hand on my left cheek. I gasp at the cold feeling at the sudden touch. "Murderer," he whispers in my ear.

I start to sob. "Now do you understand what's happening here?" Miss Powell questions, circling me. Heat rained down on me like a breath of hell. I start to rip out my attire leaving me with nothing. The feeling of fur growing on my skin appeared. I felt my mouth and nose turn into a muzzle. My spine curved, my ribs moved around.

"...Little wolf."
