She stared at me in shock. "What?"
"Did I stutter? I said: Fight. Me." My voice was ice, shards of it stabbing the air, directed at her heart. Her expression hardened. There was a split second of stillness before the explosion, and then she came flying at me.Her hands reach out to choke me, but I'm more than ready for her. I lift a hand just before hers reach my neck, and grab a thin, bright orange wrist, twisting it behind her back and sending her sprawling to the ground. I leave her there, not moving as she staggered to her feet. She throws a glance at Hunter, panting.
The red haze over my eyes thickened, and I am rendered almost blind for a few moments as I struggle to contain my fury. This allows her to get in a good kick to my ribs and she slashes her claws across my face. I hear a thunderous growl echo through the clearing, and know instinctively that it's Hunter. But I haven't got time for his shit right now. The pain from her blows actually helps, clearing my vision and letting my old coach's words ring true in my mind. 'Use the anger to your advantage, Jade' and suddenly my opening is clear. I quickly lead with a jab to her throat, then throw an uppercut to her left temple, making her step back, but I'm not finished. I roundhouse kick her ribs, then drop to the floor and sweep her legs out from under her. She hits the ground with a thud, the breath pushed out in a rush. I get in her face and hiss "Insult me and I can deal, but mess with my family and we are going to have a problem."
Her eyes widen as she lies prone in the floor before she snarls "Hunter will never love you the way he loves me." I smirk. The words cut deep but I can't show her that. The girl starts to yell at the people watching the fight
"Don't just stand there! I am your future Luna, the mate of your Alpha, I demand respect!" She sounds slightly hysterical by the end of her rant, and her foreign words (Luna, Alpha, mate?!) don't help.I'm beginning to think our little friend is a few cards short of a deck. Then Hunter steps out of the shadows. "You're not my mate, Lexi. You know that. Everyone knows it. Stop trying to exert authority over a pack that isn't and never will be yours, or you might end up being punished."
His voice suddenly had this unnatural strength to it, and almost everyone in the clearing shifts uncomfortably. It seems to only be me that finds it unbelievably attractive. My beast forces me to take a step towards him, almost completely taking over my by as an inhumane whine slips from my lips. My core is throbbing. Apparently that voice is an extraordinarily pull to she-wolves. Hunter hears my whine and his eyes turn black quickly as he notes the scratches on my cheek and the way I clutch my ribs. I may have been able to take 'Lexi' down in a matter of seconds, but there was still a decent amount of strength in her kick, so much so that I think she may have cracked a rib. Hunter watches the way I clutch my ribs and rushes with unnatural speed toward me, sending a murderous glance at a trembling Lexi as he passed her. Two boys guide her out of the clearing and as soon as she is out of sight, my tense muscles relax, but I am still on edge. The teacher reaches me before Hunter does and I stiffen as he touches my elbow. Hunter sees this and growls, a scowl darkening his face, his eyes still black. "Don't touch her!" He snarls, pulling me into his arms, body trembling with ... rage? The teacher narrows his eyes.
"Alpha Flynn, I am currently in a position of authority, during school hours. I understand that you are in a difficult place right now and believe it or not I know what you are going through, but I suggest you control your self and your wolf." He says in a sharp tone. For some reason this angers my wolf, and a low rumble starts in my chest. I blink, eyes wide. The teacher turns to me. "That applies to you too Miss Whithale-Smithe." I clap a hand over my mouth.
"I have no idea where that came from." The teacher nods his head at me, almost respectfully."That was some top notch fighting, Elisia." I notice the softening in his voice and note the use of my first name and relax.
"Thanks, I kickbox a little."
