Mason's P.O.V
I was walking to the bus stop when I saw her sitting on the bench through the little glass on the side. I had to beg Maria, my maid/real mother, to take the bus down to my school and pick up my car. I approached the bench and sat next to her like I had done it all my life. She looked up, and then took a second glance once she realized who was sitting next to her. "What are you doing here!?" She huffed. I had a smirk smacking in the middle of my face. "I told you, I'm gonna follow you around for the day. I wanna see your house, and your favorite places. I wanna see this grocery store you just HAVE to be on time to everyday."

He must be insane, or he just really wants to get an "A" in this class. He is actually sitting on this bench, waiting for a bus. He's probably never even seen a city bus this close before. "I can not believe you are actually serious! I told you no for a reason. You wouldn't survive on my side of town." I exclaimed. "Well, how do you know if you won't even try? Besides, you've seen my house, the least you could do is show me yours." He says. The bus pulls up, and the doors open. He stands up and holds his hand out. "Are you SURE you wanna do this?" I ask, hesitant. "As serious as a heart attack." He smirks. I decide to let a small smile creep across my face as I grab his hand and stand up. His palm is soft and warm.

Her hand is cold, but nice. It feels like I've been holding her hand forever. It feels like I've known her forever. We step onto the bus and take seats in the very back aisle. The bus driver closes the doors, and drives off down the road.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The bus pulls over on the side of an apartment complex. She stands up and grabs my hand, leading me off the bus.

I am beyond terrified. I'm trying my absolute best not to show it, but I really am. I've never had anyone worth even considering bringing to my house. For some reason, my heart feels calm. It's not beating out of my chest and it doesn't feel like it's going to explode. I feel surprising okay. We walk up to my door and I pull out my keys. "When I open this door, I really need you to follow me straight down the hallway. Don't say anything until we get to my room and I shut the door.

I smile thinking she's joking. But when I see the expression written across her face, I know that she's not. I see her hand shaking as she turns the key in the door. She pulls the door open hard, and grabs my hand. She swiftly drags me to the back of the house and into her room. She doesn't notice that as she dragged me I was glancing around the house I had just walked into. I noticed cigarette buds laying across the kitchen table. My room was about the same size as the entire front part of her house, if not bigger.

Truthfully, I'm shocked we made it to my room alive. My mom must be out "working" cause there isn't any fresh smoke in the air. I close the door behind us and sit down at my little foldable table that I use as a desk. "You can sit down on the bed or wherever." I said, taking out my notebook. He started walking around my room, looking at all my posters and magazine clippings on my wall.

Mason's P.O.V
Her room was amazing. She had everything from led Zeppelin posters, to quotes from Shakespeare's greatest work. I noticed a bunch of newspaper clippings surrounded by a Berkeley flag. "So you want to go to Berkeley." I stated. "Yeah, I plan on getting as far away from here as possible." She said. "So why was it so important that we rush into your room?" I asked. She stopped writing in her notebook and turned to face me. "It's...complicated." She said clearing her throat. I noticed that as she spoke she kept tugging on her turtle neck. "It's 80 degrees outside today. Why are you wearing a turtleneck?" I chuckled. "It's complicated!" She snapped.

Why was he suddenly so interested in everything that was going on with me? It's really not that big of a deal when you live through what I've lived through. I started to hear jingling coming from outside my door. I heard something slam on the kitchen table. Oh shit! "Little bitch, where are you!?" She yelled. I have to get him out of here! "What the he..." I covered his mouth before he could finish. "Okay, you have to go like right now. If she catches you in here I don't know what she'll do!" I whispered. I could feel my heart literally beating out of my chest. I grabbed his hand and his stuff and pulled him towards my window that led to the back street. I could hear her feet pacing the floor, it's only a matter of time before she walks down the hall and bust through the door. I'm really gonna get it tonight.

Mason's P.O.V
She was pulling up her window and throwing my book-bag out of it. I could tell she was scared. "Come with me! I can call Maria and have her come get us!" I yelled in a whisper. She turned her head towards the door. We heard footsteps coming down the hallway. "Little bitch, I swear to god if your ignoring me it's gonna be more than your fucking neck!" She screamed. She turned back to me with a broken expression. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. But you need to go!" She whispered, trying to push me out of the window. "I am not leaving without you! Come with me!" I whispered. I refused to leave her in that place. She stared at me like I was a crazy fairy coming to rescue her. She grabbed her phone and book-bag in one quick sweep. Her mother's footsteps were approaching faster and faster. I helped her out of the window and then jumped out. She grabbed my hand and we ran down the street as fast as we could.

I can't believe I just did that. I can't believe I just out of a window with a guy I barely know. I can't believe I let him come to my house and be a witness to that. I can't go back there now. So where am I gonna go?
