Mason's P.O.V
I woke up to the smell of bacon. The comforter from my bed was covering me. I sat up on the side of the air mattress and rubbed my eyes. Besides the comforter the bed was completely made. I sat up and looked around. I didn't see Kat anywhere. I threw on some sweatpants and walked out of my room, and down the stairs. She was leaning against the stove, flipping pancakes. I walked up to the counter and sat down.
"Morning." I said. She walked over to me and set a plate filled with pancakes, bacon, and eggs in front of me.

"Good morning." She fixed another plate and proceeded to sit next to me.

"Your really didn't have to do this. I usually just have oatmeal or a protein bar. She barely looked up at me as she spoke.

"It's not that big of a deal. You helped me here last night, and you gave me a place to rest my head. Plus you didn't try to have sex with me so, it's fine."
I didn't realize I was laughing until she looked straight up at me. After first she looked bewildered, then she busted out laughing. We were both cackling, barely breathing at the thought of US having sex. After a minute we slowed down our breathing and went back to eat.

"Well, I'm gonna go get dressed and then I'll be out of here." She said as she stood up and threw her plate away.

"What? I thought we were going to school." I said standing up.

"Well, I kinda have to go and get my stuff from my place... Old place. So I'm gonna have to skip." She said walking towards the stairs.

"Well, wait! I said running after her. Why don't I take you?"
She looked up at me eyes glaring. "I mean, I have a car. And you'd get there a lot faster, plus you won't have to carry your stuff." I huffed. She looked at me and then smirked.

"Well, usually I would give you the cliche no you really don't have to do that, but as long as the school doesn't burn down in your absence I guess it's okay."
She said as she walked back up the stairs. She couldn't tell, but behind her back, I actually let a grin appear on my face. I walked up the stairs and walked into my sister's old room. I grabbed a set of clothes and walked back into my room. She was standing over my bed packing her stuff into her bag.

"Here you go." I said as I set the clothes down on the bed next to her.

I'm sorry but what is that?" I halfheartedly laughed. He had set out a pink dress with yellow flowers on it and a pair of white shiny flats.

"Well what's wrong with it?" He asked looking genuinely confused. I was trying oh so very hard not to bust out into laughter.

"Do you mind if I take a look into whatever closet you got these out of?" I asked. He nodded his head and pointed down the hall. I walked down the hall to find myself in a wonderfully decorated hole. The walls were white, and the cover on the bed was a truly beautiful black and white pattern. The room alone was bigger and more beautiful that anything I had probably ever seen, obviously including my house. I made my way into the walk-in closet. I searched through ever bit of the clothing until I found what I'd been looking for. I grabbed the clothes and proceeded to change in the room instead of walking back to Mason's. I slipped on the ripped black jeans, and a basic grey t-shirt. I pulled my necklace out from under the shirt. The only thing I've ever had from my father. A silver triangle attached to a metal chain. I looked at it just for a brief moment. Then I sat down to put on a pair of black combat boots. I walked out of the room and into the hallway to look for Mason. He walked out of his room wearing a white v-neck t-shirt, and skinny jeans. He was wearing a pair of air-force ones on his feet.

"Whoa, where did you get that outfit." He said. He looked shocked at the clothes I was wearing.

"I got it from what I'm assuming is your sister's closet. Every girl has a backup wardrobe of clothes she wears when her parents aren't around." I smirked.

"Well okay then. Lets go get your stuff." He said. We walked down the stairs, exited out the door, and then hopped into his car. I hoped he couldn't tell how hard I was thinking. I was praying inside that my mother would not be there. But what I was praying even more for, was that she wouldn't have her boyfriend there also. I don't know what I'll do if he' s there.

As I was driving, I could tell she was somewhat nervous about something. But I didn't want her to know, that I knew she was secretly freaking out on the inside. So I just kept my eyes on the road, instead of turning my head to watch her.
