Chapter 9

Skylars POV

I stretched my arms out happily sedated by the dream I had. I spread my arms out in search of James, when my hands came up empty I sat up. My eyes began their search of the room, I wasn't in our bedroom.
That's when it hit me, I was in a spare bedroom today was my first day of school. I had put myself in another bedroom so I could wake up and get straight to school without James stopping me. Even though I wasn't with him I had dreamt of us completing the mating bond, but that cannot happen until I've hit heat and it's also preferred to mate on a full moon. Something to do with the strength of your pups which James strongly believes is the key to have the perfect alpha.
I looked at the clock on the wall, 7.30am I had about an hour to get ready. I got out of bed and stretched when I heard James call me. My eyes widened and I quickly sped off to the bathroom I climbed into the shower turning it on. Halfway through the shower I could hear the door being knocked and James yelling my name. I rinsed out my shampoo before turning it off and getting out of the shower, wrapping myself in a soft white cotton towel and wrapping my hair in a matching one. I opened the door to James he was standing there with a furious expression on his face, "What on earth are you doing Sky?" He asked, I rolled my eyes before turning around and walking to the sink. I washed my face and brushed my teeth while James stood behind me breathing heavily. I turned around only to be pulled into a chest and I couldn't help but wrap my arms around his waist, I gently kissed his chest before murmuring a sorry.
"It's ok." He sighed, running his fingers through my hair. "Did you have the same dream last night?" He asked and I instantly blushed, I pulled back and looked him in the eyes but almost getting lost in the depths of them at the same time. "Depends what it was about." I replied and he smirked, I smiled before walking out of the bathroom and getting my already prepared clothes off the bed. He followed behind me and I coughed, he looked up at me with a playful glint in his eye. "Out." I commanded and he smiled before trying to stand closer which I shook my head and moved away. He rolled his eyes and sighed heavily before leaving my room however I could still feel his presence at the door. I rolled my eyes before looking at what I had picked out. I had a nice cream bra and panties set which I put on after letting go of my towel. Once in my bra and pants set I made my skin heat up, getting rid o that awkward stage of when you get out the shower and your body's still wet. I put on my black long sleeved turtle neck and my dark blue skinny jeans I put on my yellow ankle socks and my white trainers. I sat down at my vanity table doing my hair into loose curls, which afterwards I arose from and grabbed my satchel.
I came out only to be pulled into arms, I inhaled the smell of my mate as he rested his chin on my head and wrapped his arms around my shoulders while I wrapped mine around his waist. I smiled at the sign of affection and snuggles closer into his arms. "So..?" He asked and I felty he rumble of his voice in his chest on my cheek. "So what?" I replied my voice muffled.
"Did we have the same dream?"
"If it's about mating then yes we did."
"We did indeed."
"I have school Jay."
"I know, have you eaten yet?" I shook my head as he released me, he took my hand and took me downstairs where there was two bowls of my favourite cereal. I smiled and kissed his cheek, "thank you baby." He smiled and pulled out a chair for me to sit at, which I took while he sat next to me. We ate our breakfast in a comfortable silence, which was soon broken when I realised the time 8.28am. "Fuck. I'm late." I exclaimed before jumping up from my seat and running. "Skylar. I'll drop you off." I stopped and smiled thankfully at him.

We pulled up in his car, we were in the parking lot when all eyes were on his car. People surrounded the car whispering to each other in shock, I went to get out when James stopped me. He climbed out himself and there was lots of gasps at the alphas son. I saw him ignore most of the females lust filled stares and he opened my door for me pulling me out. I smiled at him he closed the door behind me and pulled me in for a kiss which I smiled at. "I'll see you when I get home baby." I told him which he nodded at and said goodbye. I walked through the crowd, ignoring all the stares and glares I was getting I finally managed to get to the main office. I came in and tears sprung to my eyes.
I collapsed to the floor screaming and crying as my heart felt like it was being torn up and burned, not again. I felt utter betrayal and so did my wolf, I felt her cry out in sadness and howl in anguish. I felt a burning sensation form from my chest and began to consume my body, I didn't know how much I could take of this. I was screaming and thrashing about on the floor when the office staff came running out to me and tried restraining me. I was screaming so loud it hurt my own ears, I couldn't believe he would do this to me again but there was a voice of doubt in my head telling me it wasn't what I thought it was. I heard a nurse being called and a small frail woman came running to my side I could only hear snippets of their conversation but one word stood in my head and laid heavy in my mind. "Heat." I'm so fucking stupid, of course I'm in heat. It was only a matter of minutes before James came running to my aid. I saw his blue eyes wide in shock before he inhaled sharply and they turned black with lust and he shook his head. I felt hurt that he'd turn me away. He turned and ran while the females of his pack pick me up and carry me out, I felt the cold air on my burning skin.
I cried out as I began to shift, I felt my bones breaking and then reforming again but it was more painful then my first shift and I didn't understand why it hurt so much. All the females gasped in shock as I shifted for I was the only female to shift. Shit it hurt. Jessie was now whimpering and it was louder now I was in her form. She stood and ran, i didn't know where we were going for she had taken control and she was running too fast that everything was a blur.
Once she stopped running I took in our surroundings, we were at a burnt down houses where loads of flowers were laid out. We were back home. Jessie collapsed outside one of the houses which I vaguely remembered as the alphas house, my house. She cried and I cried, eventually the burning faded and I returned to my human form. That was heat, it might've of been short but it was painful. I sat down in front of the house just staring for what felt like hours, and it must've been for the sky began to fade to a darkness. I missed my family more than anything I missed being yelled at by my mother because I had gotten up late, I missed training with my brother and I missed being daddy's little princess. I missed all of my lost pack members, I missed Rex and I missed his mate Krissie, whom had died a couple years before the attack. God I missed them all, I couldn't do it anymore. Jessie missed her pack and family too I could feel it.
I was just sitting there when a fog began to cover the ground and I stood quickly watching it, it was thicker then usual fog. I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder and I spun round to see the most beautiful wolf I have ever seen. She had golden fur, a dark yet bright blue eye colour and she had a certain glow, a glow that made he look magical. "Skylar" she smiled, her voice sounded like music and it was beautiful. "Y-yes?" I asked her, I was mesmerised by her beauty and felt the need to trust her, my wolf felt no objections towards this. "I know you are hurting but know that you are important. You are a valuable wolf and I know because I made you that way." She told me, her voice held knowledge as did her eyes. That's when it struck me, I'm actually talking to the moon goddess. "Thank you?" I asked uncertain of what to actually say. She smiled, "You are very welcome. Your mate, James, will play an important role in your life as he is equally special he just doesn't know it yet, he has a power of immense strength. But you Skylar are important and powerful, but with great power comes great danger and you will be hunted." She warned me and I widened my eyes at the mere thought of being hunted. "You must be aware of everything, you must not put yourself out into the public without the company of your mate. And I'm requesting you to be with a child by the time of a next full moon, I am allowing tonight to be a full moon for I want to see both you and your mate have children before the worst comes." I furrowed my brows in confusion but before I could reply and question what she meant she was gone. I yelled out to her pleading her to come back. I screamed in anguish when I felt another tap on the back, I spun round in hope to see the moon goddess but instead I saw someone equally as important, my mother. She embraced me as quickly as I saw her, and I breathed in the familiar scent, the scent that used to lay around the house and I couldn't get enough of it. "Mommy." I cried into her shoulder, she pulled back and smiled at me, her beautiful eyes full of tears. "Sky." She cried out before gently caressing my cheek, I smiled and let tear after tear roll down my cheek. "I'm so proud of you, you've made all of us proud." She told me and I cried in happiness. "I'm sorry I didn't defend you all momma, I really am. I let Daniel get killed momma." I sobbed, she smiled at me. "You didn't, he died defending you and he couldn't of died a better way he told us." She smiled. " The moon goddess has granted all three of us a couple of minutes with you, but we all have to give you a message Skylar and you must listen." I nodded, "Yes anything just tell me." She smiled, "God your so grown up baby." I laughed and shook my head, "I don't feel like it momma." And she laughed, I missed her so much. "You are important to the wolf race and your are vital to your new pack, you must not run from danger but fight it head on." She told me and I felt determined to comply and I felt Jessie growl in agreement. "I must go now baby, but remember I love you and I'll see you again." I smiled but cried at the same time. "I love you too momma, see you soon." And she smiled and walked away slowly fading away with the wind and I felt content, yet my hear ached.
I sighed but remembered that I'd see them all again. "Skylar." A voice murmured and it was a voice that sent tingles down my spine and I turned to look at him. I smiled as my eyes met his blue ones. He ran to me and immediately embraced me, "I heard everything." He told me and rubbed my back and I smiled nodding. "It's ok." I told him, he leant down to kiss me and I pressed my lips to his. "My princess." I heard my dad say and I gasped spinning around to come face to face with him, I hugged him with a sudden need and I didn't want to let go. "Shh, shh." I hadn't realised it but I was crying and he was soothing me by rubbing my back. "I have to tell you something as your mother said, Skylar there is great danger chasing you right now, they're sniffing you out and they will get you for I have seen it and it's up to you and your mate to get you out or for you to give up and let go...ok?" I nodded, his voice of authority ringing through me. "I've got to go, your mother is missing me." He chuckled and I smiled as my mother was always like that, "I love you daddy." I whispered and he nodded before telling me he loves me. He then walked away from me after waving a goodbye he disappeared just like my mom. "No one will hurt you, I promise." James growled and I nodded. Another growl sounded through the houses and I recognised it immediately even though James tensed up and tried to sand in front of my protectively I pushed him out the way and ran to Rex. "T!!" I yelled and jumped on him. "Whoa Jesus Lar your getting fat." He laughed. "Fuck you asswipe." I laughed back while James watched us both and raised his eyebrow at our abuse. "This must be big alpha guy eh?" He asked and looked at James in distaste which James politely avoided and smiled at him. "Yeah. His kind of a douche." I winked at James playfully. "Jesus Skylar do you realise how important you've become." I nodded. "I gotta give you a message from Krissie, she told me it's urgent." And I listened, he had a captured my attention from just the mention of Krissie. "She said to keep an eye on all of your children as they all hold special gifts which others will use ok? I have to go Krissie said she loves and misses you and I kinda miss you too but I love you Lar." But before I could reply he vanished. I sighed but whispered "love you too Rex." I smiled at the empty air just because I'd seen my best friend and it had immensely lifted my spirits. "Oi pig." I heard from the distance and I called out "Oi horse." I laughed at the familiar family banter between my brother and I, I watched as he came from the trees forming as he came closer. "I have a bone to pick with you prick stick." He walked straight past and went up to James before pinning him up against the tree "If you ever hurt my sister like that again I'll break you, you hear me? I will literally haunt your ass you feel me?" And James just nodded and Daniel released him before embracing me. "I missed you sis, and don't ever blame my death on yourself ok?" I nodded into the crook of his neck. "I'm coming back Skylar I spoke to the moon goddess and she said I wasn't meant to die that day so I'm coming back. Im coming back as alpha for your old pack and to find my mate. But that's not my message, my message is your going to die if you mate over there doesn't learn to love ok?" I widened my eyes in shock and went to grasp him but he was gone. I turned to face James who had a strange look on his face, "But I think I might love you." He murmured, looking dumbfounded. V
