(Gary)
"You think your all this and all that, huh?" This dude, who had a sudden grudge on me circled around me and Calem with his friends.
"I don't think about anything. I know everything" I said in an attempt to provoke him. Before anyone could move there was a loud whistle.
"We will not have any fighting in this academy, do you hear me?!" The Sergeant bounded over, with a concerned expression. "You're course is scheduled to end in a week and this is how you behave?!"
"S-sorry, sir" The dude shrunk down and looked scared. "He was just being so-"
"I don't like excuses" The Sergeant waved him off and his friends ran. He turned to me and Calem. "You guys didn't cause any trouble?"
"No sir" Calem swiftly replied.
"After these two years at this academy, I think you guys have the potential to work for the government. Although you may lack the brains your physical record is tidy and your finesse is on par with the best detectives in the FBI" He praised us both and I felt please. Screw that teacher who said I wouldn't amount to anything.
"Thanks sir, these kind words will give us confidence to continue to do our best" I said, with a brief smile.
"Get back to your dormitory and study, I don't want to see our finer students screw up their final exam"
"Sir!" Calem exclaimed, before we headed off to the dorm. The whole academy had a range of people looking to go into different departments. We wanted to be apart of police detectives. We had a three year course learning the basics within the departments and studying evidence brought in from real life situations. We even had patrols for policing experiencing, but our ultimate goal was these two years in the academy. This was our fifth and final year learning, meaning we could be detectives for the police, a first step towards the FBI.
"Calem?" I asked as we entered our room.
"Huh, what?" He asked, jumping onto his bed and looking at the ceiling.
"I am going to nail this exam" I said with the utmost amount of confidence. I have never really been good with writing, but I was studying extra hard for this dream.
"So am I. We will be partners" Calem nodded with the same amount of confidence.
"I call bad cop!" I said jokingly, jumping onto the top bunk.
"Shut up you idiot" Calem laughed, before slowly falling asleep. I decided to grab a few extra hours too and fell asleep.
Two Weeks Later...
"Welcome Detective Oak and Detective Green, to the team" Our chief detective introduced us. I walked in with Calem, wearing a stuffy suit. I felt too formal in this get up, but I had to keep my appearance up for another five minutes. There was a lot of hellos and welcomes as we walked in.
"Just call me Calem" Calem said, so I went with the flow.
"And I'm Gary" I waved as we headed into our office.
"At the recommendation of the Sergeant, you will be working together on different cases. Make yourself comfortable, because I have a case perfect for you newcomers" The chief headed out of the office and shut the door. I adjusted the blinds so no one could see us and took my jacket off. I loosened up my tie and then undid the top button, relaxing my neck from being strangled. I always wore a shirt untucked, because I couldn't stand tucking it in, it irritated me too much. I looked over at Calem, who had the exact same idea. He kept his suit jacket on, which was black. I put my silver watch back on and checked the time. 2PM.
"We missed lunch!" I exclaimed, unhappy.
"Ah well, we have work to do now" Calem pointed out, just in time because the chief came back in.
"We have reports of some minor drug farming in a rather unusual place" He laid some papers on our desks and I studied them with interest.
"The local soccer team?" Calem spoke aloud, studying the papers.
"Seems feasible" I concluded after reading over it once or twice. "No one would really suspect them since the training ground is closed off for staff entry only. We will go down there and check it out"
"The reason we have been given this job is because forensics are busy with an overload of work and the police chief decided to hand us the job, just to be safe. You boys have had standard firearm training?"
"Of course, it was part of our course" I said, standing up. Here comes my standard issue Glock!
"Well then, you will need these belts at all times. Comes with a standard issue Glock G43 and a pair of handcuffs. There is also a tazer for any other situations. You know the procedure when it comes to firearms, so do not use them unless it is deemed acceptable. Here are your work phones, these are used to contact our radio channels. The car you are using will have a built in radio, so use that if necessary. That is all boys, best of luck on your job" He finally concluded. We put our belts on and holstered our weapons, I left my handcuffs in my pocket, because it was easier that way in my opinion.
We headed to our car and I got into the passenger seat.
"Making me drive, huh?" Calem shrugged as he jumped into the car.
"Well, you will be the first driver out of the two of us, show some pride!"
"Whatever" Calem turned the key in the ignition and the engine rumbled, starting the car. He put it into reverse and turned around, before heading out of the car park and to our location.
I turned on the radio and switched frequencies to the correct channel.
"Detective Oak to dispatch" I said through the radio. It was a little crackly and then there was major feedback.
"This is dispatch. You're location is on South Street. Keep going straight and you will find the stadium on your left. Proceed with caution and use force if necessary. Only returning fire is acceptable on this current job, over"
"Loud and clear, we are en route to the location as specified" Calem replied for me, before shutting the radio off. "No need for the fancy talk, lets just get the job done"
"Hmph, whatever" I said, deciding to look out of the window. It felt weird, being part of the police. I was always someone who should have amounted to nothing, after finding it so hard in highschool, but my friends got me through it. Even the jokes. They helped me try harder, so I could be the one laughing in the end.
We parked up at the training ground and got to the gate.
"Sorry, only staff and squad members can come in" The two at the gate said with caution. I flipped my badge out of my shirt pocket and showed them it.
"We are detectives for the Vaniville Police Department" I explained, while Calem got a warrant out. He handed it to the two and we walked past before they could argue any further, ignoring their excuses immediately.
"Where shall we search?" I asked Calem, who shrugged.
"Split up. You go into the tunnel and to the changing rooms, while I search any suspicious looking rooms" Calem then suggested, as an idea.
"Lets do it. Force probably won't be necessary since anyone isn't here"
Calem nodded and then headed in one direction, while I went to the tunnel. We had our jobs sorted, although I could tell from Calem's quick pace that something wasn't right. Like we was in the wrong territory. I was prepared for anything, so they could try their best to hide whatever they wanted, because I would find it no matter what.

For anyone that may be confused, each section is within a different time. For example, Iris and Cilan are still 18/19, it is happening just after high school, whereas Gary and Calem are 23, five years after their training began and high school. They won't be 23 throughout the whole thing, however.
Also, I gave Calem a random last name ;P sorry if he has a 'known' one.
