Chapter 6: The Mall

Mabel's POV

We were driving home when the party took over my mind.

"Dipper!" I whispered.

"What Mabel?" he replied.

"We should go to the mall!"

"Why?" Dipper asked.

"To get clothes for Pacifica's party."

"We already have clothes Mabel." He said sarcastically.

"But new clothes." I said with a duhh look in my eye.

"We have no money and you know Gruncle Stan is cheap with his money."

I grabbed my purse that I was holding. I opened it and grabbed sixty dollars.

"Mabel where did you get that money?" Dipper asked with a surprised look on his face.

"I have a job." I responded.

Then, we pulled up to the Mystery Shack.

"Soos!" Dipper yelled.

"Yeah dude?" Soos said as he walked over to us.

"Will you drive us to the mall?" I asked.

"Sure dudes."

The car ride was really quiet, because there was nothing to talk about.

It took us about 20 minutes to get to the mall and as soon as we did, Dipper and I jumped out of the car.

"Thanks Soos." I said as he drove away.

"Pick us up in about 2 hours." Dipper yelled.

We walked inside and it was so loud. It wasn't a bad loud though.

We were waking around for a while when I spotted my type of store. It was called the Sweater Shop.

"Oh my gosh! Dipper we have to go in there!" I yelled as people were staring at me acting like a 5 year old.

"Mabel!" Dipper yelled in a whisper like voice.

"Please can we go?" I asked.

"Yes, it is your money anyways."

"Yay!" I yelled, asking for unwanted attention.

We went into the store and it was beautiful inside. I wanted to buy everything in there. This was the best store ever.

Dipper's POV

***

This was the worst store ever.

Mabel was acting like a toddler and I had to watch her and act like her parent saying 'Don't touch that' or 'You'll never wear that' and so forth.
I felt like we were already in there for an hour and it didn't look like Mabel was any where close to being done.

"Mabel, hurry up!" I said to her.

"Wait! Be patient." She sarcastically said to me.

It wasn't even that big of a store but she was taking forever. Mostly because every sweater she saw she told me to look at it and added it to what she wanted to try on.

I know I'm complaining a lot, but I think we have circled the store ten times.

Finally, Mabel made her decisions. She chose out six sweaters. The one she was going to wear to the party said 'PARTY GIRL!' with a balloon and cake.

"Good choices." the cashier said in a phony voice.

"Thank you." then she turned to me "See Dipper, it was worth taking our time."
I just rolled my eyes and started walking out the door. Mabel followed.

"How much money do you have left." I asked Mabel.

"Well I spent 36 dollars... so I have 24 dollars left." Mabel said, acting smart.

"Can you buy me a nice shirt, please?" I asked Mabel.

"Yes, I can." She responded.

We walked around until we found a all men and boys store.

We walked inside. I breathed in and said 'Ahh' because it smelt like colone. Mabel breathed in to, but then coughed dramatically.

"Too strong!" she said.

We looked around for a while. Then I found a very nice flannel.

"Mabel, what do you think about this?" I asked as I showed her the shirt.

"Ooh, its nice." Mabel replied.
We went to the cashier and paid for the shirt. The nice lady handed me the bag.

We started walking out and we smelled cookies.

"Ooh." Mabel and I said in harmony.
We walked to the food carts and saw the cookies. We got four, two extra for Soos and Gruncle Stan.

"Thank you Mabel." I nicely said to Mabel.

"My pleasure." she responded in a funny accent.

We walked outside and sat on the curb and finished our cookies as we waited for Soos.

"So..." Mabel said awkwardly.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you like Pacifica?"
I felt myself blushing. I knew I did but I didn't know what to say to my sister.

"Well, I don't really know. It was only the first say of school." I said, still blushing.

"Yeah you do Dipper! Don't lie!" Mabel teased as she playfully punched me.

"Okay fine. I guess I do a little."

Just then, Soos pulled up in the Mystery shack van. We said 'hi' to Soos and then drove back to the Mystery Shack.
