Chapter 12: The Date!

Dipper's POV

I stood patiently at Pacifica's large door.

Then, I heard it creek open and I partially saw Pacifica's face.

"Dipper!" She yelled, realizing that it was me.

"Hi Pacifica!" I responded with a happy tone.

She came up and hugged me, just like she did at the party.

"I just going to tell my mom that we are leaving. You can sit down and wait if you'd like." Pacifica announced, heading upstairs.

Pacifica's POV

I walked up the stairs, to go tell my mom that I was leaving with Dipper.

When I got closer, I realized that my mom was mumbling.

I got closer to hear what she was saying and not startle her.

Or you could call it eavesdropping.

Either way, I wanted to figure out what she was saying.

I looked inside to where my mom was, trying not to get caught.

I saw something in her hand. It was a picture of me.

Then, I realized that she was crying.

"She is too... too young." She said in between sniffs. "Pacifica doesn't need to know."

What do I not need to know? I asked myself, slowly backing away.

I stepped down all the stairs and then I saw Dipper.

He opened his mouth to say something, but I motioned him to stop talking. He got a confused look on his face, so I told him that I would tell him later.

Dipper opened the door for me, so I stepped outside. He also opened his car door for me, so I got in and put my seatbelt on.

"Thanks." I said to Dipper when he got in the driver's seat.

"No problem." He replied, starting the car.

He looked at the mirror, and started backing up.

I pulled out my phone and started to text my mom that I was leaving.

She didn't text back for a few minutes, but when she did she said just 'okay.'

"How about some music?" Dipper asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah!" I enthusiastically replied.

He turned up the radio, and I realized it was 'Tear in my Heart' so I started singing along, as well as Dipper.

She's the tear in my heart, I'm on fire.
She's the tear in my heart, I'm alive.

I looked over at Dipper, and smiled. I'm glad that our date so far wasn't awkward.

"This my favorite part!" I yelled and Dipper turned the volume up.

You fell asleep in my car, I drove the whole time. But that's okay I'll just avoid the holes so you sleep fine.
I'm driving here I sit, cursing my government for not using my taxes to fill holes with more cement.

After the song was over, we were only a few minutes away from where we were going, according to Dipper.

"We are almost there! Close your eyes." Dipper yelled as I heard his car door close.

I closed my eyes, and Dipper helped me get out.

We walked for a few feet before Dipper said I could open my eyes.

When I did, I squealed at the sight. It was a Drive-In!

"Dipper, I love Drive-Ins!" I exclaimed.

He just smiled, grabbed my hand and started walking back to the car.

He set out some blankets, and the movie started.

"What are we watching?" I asked.

"The Wedding Singer." Dipper replied.

"Yay!"

We started watching the movie.

We were about half way through when I cried into Dipper sleeve.

"But, R-Robbie and Jul-Julia need to be t-together! I can't believe he is ch-cheating on her!" I sniffled.

"Yeah." Dipper wasn't crying, but he looked like he was on the verge of tears.

When the movie was over, we got into the front seats.

"I'm so glad they got together! That was amazing!" I told Dipper.

He smiled and turned on the radio.

When we arrived at my house, Dipper got out and opened the car door for me.

"Thank you!" I said.

I looked into his eyes, which were twinkling in the moonlight.

I smiled, and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

He started blushing like crazy, but he still walked me back to the door.

"Bye Dipper." I waved when I stepped inside.

"Bye." He replied, still blushing.

I went upstairs, when I saw my mom asleep, still clutching a picture of me.

I walked closer to see the picture.

It was me, with my dad. But, there was something next to him.

It was wide, and it looked like a doorway. It wasn't a normal doorway, it was in the middle of the room. What was behind the door didn't look like the same surroundings as the room.

In the picture, I looked a if I was going to walk into it.

My mom started moving, so I ran back to my to my room.

When I fell asleep, I had a peculiar dream.
