Lucy's POV

I push open the wooden doors of fairytail, greeted by crashes and bangs.

I walk through the hall hoping I can dodge all of the magic being thrown around.

"Hey Luce"

I look behind me, it was Natsu,

"Hi Natsu!" I replied.

Natsu was a great guy, I've had a crush on him for a while now.

Please note that this is a GrayLu fanfic, not NaLu.

We kept up with the small talk until master walked up to face the guild.

"The fairy tail dance is in 2 weeks, be prepared!"

Gray's POV

gramps was talking about this dance-thing.

I look at Lucy.

Maybe I could ask her

...No

I know that she likes Natsu.

I can't ruin this for her.

The next day

Lucy's POV

I woke up with a smile on my face

Today I will tell him how I feel.

I put on my signature blue and white outfit and tied my hair in pigtails. (What she's wearing in the cover)

I needed to look as cute as possible.

"Done!"

I said as I checked myself in the mirror.

I ran out of my house, thinking of what I was going to say.

Natsu, I really...really like you.

NOPE NOPE NOPE.

I turn the corner and seen Gray.

"Graaaayyyy" I said while waving my arm in the
air.

"Hi Lucy"

His face was flushed with red.

He looked away

"Gray?"

"S-sorry"

Gray's POV

I was walking to the guild and seen Lucy

Damn, she looks extra cute today

I felt my face growing red.

"Graaaaaaaayyyyy"

Shit, she seen me

"Hi Lucy" I said trying to keep it cool

I looked away

"Gray?" I heard Lucy say

"S-sorry" I said

We then walked to the guild, together, silent.

The awkward-ness was overwhelming.

We then stopped at the sight of Natsu and Lisanna.

"Lisanna, I-I love you"

I looked over at Lucy,

Her face was in absolute horror

"Natsu, I do too" Lisanna then said

Lucy's eyes were welling up with tears.

Natsu kissed lisanna.

"Lucy..." I said

All I saw was Lucy running back.

Natsu's POV

When Lisanna confessed back, I was so happy.

I kissed her.

All I heard then was Gray scream "LUCY!"

Then footsteps.

Lucy...

"Natsu, whats the matter"

"Oh...Nothing"

I picked her up and kissed her.

Lucy's POV

I looked in pure horror as Natsu and Lisanna traded confessions.

Tears formed in my eyes.

All I remember was me running and Gray shoting my name.

I didn't want to speak to anyone.

My heart was shattered.

I pushed open my door and slammed it.

I ran to my room, sat down and started to cry.

*BANG BANG BANG*

There were knocks at my door.

"LUCY, OPEN UP"

"Gray?"

I walked down the stairs hastilly and answered the door, my eyes swollen and red from crying.

"Gra-"

He hugged me.

Oh I remember know

I told him about Natsu.

Flashback

Wendy, Erza, Levy-chan and Gray , my best friends, were all around me.

"Guys...I like Natsu" I said

They were all suprised

Gray seemed the most affected though.

Flashback end

I hugged Gray back sobbing.

Come to think of it, Gray has always been there for me.

When my dad died

When all the spirits turned weird.

During the grand magic games

And many more.

I had now realized

That it wasn't Natsu this whole time

It was Gray.
