Chapter 2

We were in the car when Jake got a text from Zach. Hey dude can I sleepover today??? Sure Jake texted back not remembering I am now living with him. "Ummm Jake" I said. "Yeah.... Shit I didn't even think" he said sounding worried. It's okay I said trying to comfort him. We will just say I'm sleeping over today because my mom is going out of town, it's not like he knows who my mom is. "Okay that's what we are sticking to".

When we arrived home I started packing some of my clothes up into bags so Zach wouldn't realize I live here. When I was finally done packing I heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it Jake said walking to the door. Hey dude". "Hey, thanks for letting me sleepover this is going to be so much fun just the two of us like old time" Zach said happily. "Well actually". "Hi" I said peeking out of the wall. "Wow okay, this is going to be a long night".

"So what do you want to do" Zach asked us. "We can go swimming" Jake suggested. Sure I nodded. With that we went swimming. "Hey Caroline" Zach said to me. Yea I nodded. "Do you sleepover often"? Yea, ever since we were little I responded. "What do you guys do when you come over"? We just watch a movie or do homework. "Do you ever talk about anyone"? Would you like to know? We giggled and jumped in to the pool.

The day was no over and time to go to sleep. "Ummm, Jake where is Caroline going to sleep" Zach asked worried. Well she usually sleeps over their Jake said pointing to my bed. You can sleep their I will just sleep on the blowout mattress. "Thanks" Zach said with a smile. No problem.

"Wake up sleepyhead" Jake said to me. What time is it? "9:00". You know I sleep till 11:00 on weekends I said punching him in the chest. "I only thought it was fair since you wake me up early on school days". STUPID, because their is school I said rolling my eyes. "Wait, what" Zach came in not understanding. Me and Jake turn to each other. "Nothing" we said in unison. "No, no I heard you guys say that in mornings you wake each other up for school. Are you guys.. Brother and sister". "Please don't tell anybody" Jake and I said in unison. "I knew it Zach said emphatically. You guys are obviously not related by blood, so have long have your parents been together"? For about a month now I answered. "We're you guys ever planning on telling people"? "We are but not right now because we are still getting use to the change".

Zach just left the house and so Jake and I decided on going to the park. "Jake" I said questioning him. "Yea" Jake said sounding concern. "Do you think Zach will tell people"? "I know he is mean on the outside but I know my best friend he will never lie to me". "Okay" I said relived.

When we were a block away from the house a girl noticed us. "Jake" she said surprised. "Sofia" Jake said sarcastically. Jake grabbed my arm and dragged my to the house. "Who is she" I questioned. "She's my old girlfriend, she cheated on me". With who"? "My friend" Jake said with his face heating up. "Which one" I said slowly so he can catch the concern in my voice. "I doesn't matter anymore, I'm over it". "Okay, whatever" I said surrendering myself. We walked up to the door and Jake ran straight to our room and locked it not letting me in. I knocked on the door. "Jake"? "Not now" Jake said with a teary voice. "Let me in Jake, I opened up to you before and now it's your turn. Slowly, I heard the lock open and I saw Jake crying on the other side. This was the first time I ever saw Jake cry and it was sad. I went straight to Jake and sat him down on the bed. "Who is your friend that betrayed you like that"? There was a silents in the room. "Zach" he said starring at me with wide eyes. "Zach... I'm going to kill him I said standing up marching to the door. "No Caroline, we are over with so you need to be too". "But". "But nothing" Jake said interrupting me. "Fine I said. Can I" "No Jake said again interrupting me. Wow can he read my mind or something. You are going to sit right here while I'm going to get popcorn to watch a movie, okay". "Yes" I said nodding, walking over to the bed. Jake left the room to go make the popcorn and I went on my phone to text Zach.

To: hey

From: hi

To: tell me the truth, did you betray Jake with with his old girlfriend???

From: how do you know???

To: so it's true but why??

From: he knew I always liked her he still went for her

To: gtg talk to you later

From: okay bye

"Hey, who were you talking to"? "Nobody" I answered quickly. "Whatever" Jake said turning on the television. That's when I got another text from Zach.

From: wait a second why did you care so much... Do you like me???

To: what no, of corse not I cared because he is my brother

From: awww that's to bad because I think it will be so cute if my little bro's sister liked me

To: well then that's to bad... But the real question is do you like me I mean you cared enough to text me again and now it all comes together I mean the questioning about if we talk about you when we are alone...

From: daaaa I like you... Everyone likes you that's why we all hang around you now... Even Jake liked you

I turn to Jake who is attached to the movie right now. Even Jake liked me I said to myself blushing.
