Chapter 4

"See you later" Jake and I yell to his friends. It was Friday and school just ended. Jake and I were walking home today because my mom wasn't available to pick us up and his dad works. I didn't mind since our house is close by. When we arrived I ran straight to the bathroom and took a shower while Jake was in our room playing with our cat Lucy. "Are you almost done" I heard Jake scream. "I'm getting out now". I wanted to look my best since tonight I was going to hang out with his friends at the mall. "It's not that big of a deal you know" Jake said to me before hopping into the shower. "Well we are going to a restaurant to eat dinner". "Whatever"Jake said walking away from me. I went to my closet to pick out what I was going to wear. I decided on black leggings and a indigo shirt that was really cute. When I put on my outfit, it came together. Jake came out of the shower and came through the doors of our room. "Caroline" Jake said with his jaw dropping. "What"? "Nothing" Jake said shaking his head. "Whatever" I said rolling my eyes and walking out of our room.

We were driving to the mall now. "I can't wait till you get your driving license so we can start driving wherever we want" I said to Jake. "I know right". In the car we were jamming out to all the hit songs. Of course, we are teenagers so we may have posted some videos on snapchat and Instagram.

When we arrived to the mall, Jake pulled out his phone and started texting the guys. We are here, were are you? Kyle responded saying they were at the cheese cake factory. Jake and I walked through the mall until we reached the restaurant. "Hey guys I said scaring the shit out of all of them. Sorry" I said giggling. When they all got their heartbeat back they hugged me and Jake and showed us our seats.

The dinner wasn't bad but the fun part was about to begin. "Hey do you guys want to watch a movie" Alex said. "Sure" we all said agreeing. "What movie" I said. "Ummm, we can watch "The Intern Alex said stating down at his phone. "It starts in ten so let's head up stairs now". We all went up stairs and purchased our tickets. "I'll get the popcorn" I said to the group. "I'll go with her" Zach said smirking to me. Ugh I thought rolling my eyes. We walked into line and stood there in awkward silence. "Hey Caroline, do you mind if I sleepover tonight"? "As long as you don't bother me Zach I'm fine". "Okay" he said all giggly like what I would do.

The movie was great but nothing really interesting happened except the fact that I learned the Zach eats most of the popcorn before the movie even starts, but really who doesn't

Zach drove us home since he has a car. It was a pretty silence car ride to the whole way home. We were about a block away from our house when she who must not be named spotted us. "Zach, Jake, wait up" Sofia yelled. Zach kept driving until we reached our drive way but it was to late she ran to us. "What's up" she said smiling from ear to ear. We ignored her and kept on walking to the door. "Talk to me guys". "No, but listen to me, get a reality check because none of us want you here" I said angrily. "But" she stuttered. "Get out of my property unless you wonder me to call the cops". With that she walked back to her house. I turned back to see both of the boys jaw open. I ignored their immaturity, opened the door and walked inside. "I'm sleeping on my bed tonight" I said to the to boys who still seemed surprised about how I reacted. It was late so I slipped on my pajamas and went to sleep. The boys said they were going to stay up a little longer.

I woke up in the middle of the night and went to get water from the kitchen. I opened the fridge and started pouring a cup. "Hey" I heard from behind me. "Zack, don't scare me like that". "Sorry he said giggling. Do you want to prank Jake" Zach said to me excitedly. "Sure and I have the perfect idea". I went over to Jakes bed and with the help of Zach we lifted Jake and his mattress and carried it over to the bathroom. We turned on the water and the bathtub started filling up quickly. "Hey can you help me, my foot is stuck" I said to Zach. "Sure just wait a second and I'll get you out". "Okay". Zach pulled my foot out and I went flying. Zach caught me into his arms and we locked eyes. We stood there for a while until Zach slowly started leaning in. I was counting down until his lips reached mine. 3....2....1 and then our lips met each others and we kissed. His lips were soft and felt good against mine. We slowly broke apart. "Let's continue" I said ignoring the fact that we just kissed. "Okay" Zach said agreeing. We lifted Jake into the bathtub and he suddenly woke up startling both me and Zach. I saw the fumes on Jakes face and it cracked me up. Zach and I were laughing for a while until jake got up and marched to the room and shut the door behind him. "Jake aren't you forgetting something" I said cracking up still. He came back marching, grabbed his mattress and went back to the room. We followed him this time and went back to sleep. "Goodnight everyone" I said especially staring at Zach. "Goodnight" the both said.
