My new stepbrother

Chapter 5

This Saturday morning I woke up with excitement. Today was a party I was throwing that is kinda like a sweet 16. As soon as I woke up I hopped in the shower. When I was done I just sat in my room and rested for the big night that was awaiting for me.

My party started at 7:00 but since I'm throwing it, I need to walk in later like if it is a grand entrance. I walked in with my family with smiles across our whole faces. As we crossed the room, everyone cheered. It is a tradition to have a candle ceremony to give thanks to everyone. We were about to start when we heard a scream from outside. "We made it" someone said pushing the doors open. "Holy shit" the guy said locking eyes with me. "Dad"? I asked. My dads girlfriend lifted up her hand and I saw a ring on her finger. "We're getting married" my dad said with delight. "Not again" I said into Jake's ear. "He looks like he knows you" Jake said to me. "Exactly". I dragged Jake outside to explain how I know her kids. "The little one goes to camp with me and the older one is the coach. Actually, not exactly but he has the responsibility of a coach". What grade are they in" Jake said. "The little one just started high school and the other one is a senior". "Ohhh that's how I know him" Jake said. "Wait, what". " I've seen him around school before. What's his name again"? "The older one is name Louis and the younger one is named Henry. Let's go back in" I said confused.

I had 15 candles to light. The first candle is usually for the people of that passed away. The second through tenth candle is for family and family friends. The twelfth and thirteen candle is for group friends like clubs. My fourteen candle is for my mom and dad. My last candle is for my sister and my brother. "For my last candle I will like to call up my sister and my brother". No one knew I had a brother so they had a blank stare. When Jake came up everyone was surprised and some confused. "I kept this secrete for a while, but it is time for everyone to know. These two people started are standing in front of me are not only my brother and sister ,they are my best friends, my go to for help and my roommate. Veronica, although you are in college know, it only made our connection stronger. Jake, when you are around, you make the whole room light up and I couldn't imagine my life without you". We lighted the last candle together and continued dancing the night away. My party is really for two reasons, 1. It is for the fun and 2. For it being 1 week until the year is over. The year went by so quickly.

The night of dancing and fun was now over. My mom said I was able to pick five friends to sleepover so I chose my friend Dani, Sofia, Vivian, Rose and Katherine. These were my best friends out of everyone and we always have a good time together.

When we arrived home, the first thing we did was start to open the presents. Rose insisted on me picking hers first so I started opening the gift. Inside was a letter with $20 attached to it and shoes she knew I wanted. I have her a huge hugged and continued opening the gifts. Every gift had money inside of it and something else that was little like perfume or clothes.

We were all so tired that we started getting ready for bed. We slept in the living room since their is a pull out bed and the couch was comfy to sleep on. Of course, Jake slept in his room but I knew the girls wanted him to stay with us but to be honest who wouldn't I mean he is the hottest guy at school. We all payed down and started taking like we usually do at sleepovers. "Caroline" someone said. "Yea" I answered back. "How is it like having Jake as a stepbrother, I mean we all knew you had a huge crush on him". Well first I don't even see him as a stepbrother anymore because to me he is a brother and second I'm over the whole crush I had on him because I don't know what I would do without him as my brother". "Good because I don't know what I would do without you as my sister I heard a voice say. I looked up and saw Jake leaning against the wall walking over to me. And it's cute you had a crush on me". "You shouldn't be saying that, I talked to Zach you know". "Yeah, what about"? "We all knew you had a little crush on me too". His face got red in embarrassment. "Well, it seems like we are both over things" Jake said turning around and walking away.

"Morning" my friends and I said in unison waking up Jake from his deep sleep. "It's a weekend, I'm suppose to wake you up" Jake said mumbling. "That's not the way I see it, now is it" I said. All the girls laughed and we walked out leaving Jake slamming his pillow over his head.

We made breakfast and then watched a movie. "What movie are you watching" I heard Jake say. "Bridesmaids" I said turning to him. "You guys are so girly Jake said. Hey Caroline can I talk to you"? "Ummm.. Sure what about". I walked over to wears he was at and turned to him. "Are you fine, I mean you just found out you have other stepbrothers". "I didn't really think about" I said.
