I go in early for work today because of the enormous list of things I have to do, and I apologize to Henry this morning because he has to walk to school. "It's alright, Mom. I understand." he says with a small smile. "I'll bring my umbrella just in case."
I glance out the window as I sit across from him and set down a bowl of cereal for each of us. The sun is hidden behind a blanket of dark clouds and the world seems dreary and bleak. I don't see many people walking to their different destinations, which is unusual. I guess because of the weather people are trying to stay indoors as much as possible. "Okay," I say. "Just be careful, as always."
"Of course, Mom."

As I get in my yellow bug, my phone starts buzzing. I check the caller and see Regina's name. "Hey, what's up?"
"Well, Robin just invited me to a barbecue party at his house. Want to come?"
"Cool, sounds fun." I smile, even though she can't see. "When?"
"It's tonight, 7pm."
"A barbecue party, tonight? Have you looked out a window recently?
"Yes, of course I have." she says. "I know the weather's bad, but Robin says he's not going to invite a lot of people. It's just going to be a small party."
"That's not what I'm worried about. Have you walked in heels when it's raining?" I say, trying not to laugh.
"Ugh, tell me about it." She says, giggling.
"Anyways, what's the address?"
"It's 3583 Sherwood Road. Oh, and Emma? He says you can bring a date if you want." Regina says, and I can almost see the smirk on her face.
"Alright. I'll see if he can come." I say.
"He will. See you later, okay?"
"Okay, bye. See ya."
As I hang up, I put my phone on the passenger seat until I stop at a red light. I grab my phone and shoot Killian a quick text.
Someone I know is having a barbecue party. Want to come?
Should I? Should I not? Maybe I should. Actually, I shouldn't. Oh, whatever.
Someone I know is having a barbecue party. Want to come? :)
I send the risky text and continue driving to work. A few minutes later, I hear a text from my phone. I patiently wait until I park to pick up my phone and read the text.
Sure, love. Address?
I smile widely as I reply.
I'll pick you up.
He quickly responds and I laugh.
Isn't it I who should be driving you to parties? :)
I sigh and quickly send my text before walking into work.
Okay. 3599 Storybrooke Street Apartment 221. 7pm.
