Adam Lambert - Outlaws of Love>>

----------

I stared dumbfound at Jeff, “W-what?”

“You heard me. I want you to put an Alpha order on me to stop loving you,” he said, locking his eyes with mine.

Disappointment went through me when his words registered with me. He wanted me to erase every feeling of love he felt towards me? But that meant not only erasing the romantic feelings he had for me, but also the brotherly feelings he had developed during our friendship.

Jeff and I have been friends for as long as I could remember. The only moment we were distant with each other was right after we broke up, but that was years ago and even then we were still friends. How could he expect me to erase all of that? Did he considered that a curse too? All because he had a hard time moving on even when he knew that once he found his mate I would be history to him. He was trying to save himself the struggle he had to endure until he found his mate by taking the easy way out.

But it shouldn’t be that simple. Right? This was life - it had its hard times and easy times and in order to get to the good moments we had to face the bad ones. What would happen to us if we erased the difficult situations out of our lives? Aren’t those situations the moments that make us grow stronger. So erasing those difficulties would keep us weak.

What did making a decision like that say about me as an Alpha? My father always taught me to set an example for the rest to follow. What kind of example was I setting if I was going against nature and using the power to order held not for my pack’s safety, but for a personal matter?

That made up my mind. I had to think as an Alpha and not as a friend.

“I’m sorry, I can’t do that,” I said apologetic, but with finality in my voice.

“Why not? Do you like seeing me this miserable?” Jeff said accusingly.

I sighed, not wanting to discuss this subject any longer, but knowing I had to. “No Jeff, I don’t like seeing you miserable, but I can’t do what you’re asking of me. We don’t know what will come of it so I’m not going to take any risks. You’ll get over this soon enough, I’m sure of it. And if not then finding your mate will erase those feeling for you. Either way, I can’t order to erase them.”

“It’s not that easy, you know.” He clenched his jaw and looked away, not meeting my gaze.

“I know. You made me feel every single thing you felt, remember,” I said sounding bitterly to remind him of what he did the moment he found out Nathaniel was my mate. He had let his guard down completely, making me feel every feeling that was going through him at that moment.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that.” This time he looked me in my eyes. The sincerity of his apology was evident in his eyes.

“Tell you what, I’ll make sure that you have some time off to search for your mate in the packs nearby. I’ll personally make sure that the Alpha’s will be aware of your visit,” I said enthusiastically. I hated to see him lose hope on finding his mate, especially when she could be just around the corner.

He looked like he was thinking my proposition over, but there was some indecision in his eyes. I wondered what he was thinking about. Finding his mate would be a solution to all his problems, so what was there to think about?
