It was 4:45pm and Maddie and I were about to leave our dorm to go to the registrar office. She finishes tying her shoes and fluffing out her skirt, then motions for me to follow her.

"It's about a 5 minute walk. 10 if you walk really slow" She explains to me and I nod my head. Maddie keeps looking at her phone abruptly,

"Is it someone important?" I ask her and she shrugs her shoulders,

"Kind of. Not sure yet." She tells me and gives me a half smile. Precisely 6 minutes later we reached the office. Her phone beeps and she looks at it. Her eyes start to get teary and she gives me a sad look,

"Listen I have to go, I'm sorry. Just go to that lady and she'll help you from there I promise." She tells me and leaves quickly. I stand there kinda stunned, I look at my phone and it 4:53. I start walking and suddenly I bump into something, a body. I look up to see a cute brown haired boy looking ruffled as he dropped all his papers.

"Oh I'm sorry! That was totally my fault" I explain as I bend down to help him pick up his papers. He stops for a sec and smiles.

"It's alright mate. I'm Calum, you are?" Calum asks,

"Lydia. Lydia Jackson" I tell him proudly and he smiles. He's definitely Australian.

"Well, Lydia Jackson. Nice to meet you. You new here?" He scrunches one eye and I nod my head.

"Yeah. I actually came here just to get my schedule and outfit." I explain to him and he smiles. Damn, he was cute alright.

"Need help? I can show you where to go" I nod my head and blush.

"Right this way" He puts his hand on the small of my back, leading me towards the front office.

"Hello Mrs. Maio, this is Lydia Jackson. She's new and needs her schedule." Calum taps his finger on the desk repeatedly and I nod my head. She shuffles through a few things and lowers her glasses to look at the name.

"Jackson, Lydia. Here you go" She hands it to me and I tuck a loose stray of hair behind my ear.

"Where can I go to buy the school uniform?" I asks and she points to the right,

"First door on your left" I nod my head and mumble a thanks. I look at my schedule and I got everything I signed up for. I see French class got added and I did not sign up for it. I furrow my eyebrows and look at Calum.

"How come I got put into French class when I didn't sign up for it?" I show him my schedule and he explains to me,

"Everyone has to take French, it's mandatory. I don't know why, it just is" He finishes and I nod my head and bite my lip while muttering an 'Ok'. We reach the room and I peek in to see someone at the front table. Calum and I walk in, and I cough to catch the guys attention.

"Hello, I need to buy 5 pairs of school uniforms please." I tell the man, and get out my wallet.

"That'll be $100" He says and I hand him the cash. He goes in the back and gets 5 pairs of uniforms. I cringe at the sight of them a little bit. He hands them to me and I put on my best fake smile. Calum and I walk out and stand outside.

"Could I get your number? In case I have anymore questions " I tell him, even though I probably won't have questions, I just wanna talk to him. I blush as he hands me my phone and I put my number in. He sends me a quick text so I have his number.

"I'll see you around Lydia" He smiles and walks the opposite way and I walk the other.

By the time I get back to the dorm it's 6pm. Maddie is sitting on her bed, studying her French. Once she sees I have entered the room she smiles.

"Bonjour Lydia, quoi de neuf?" I laugh and reply,

"Bonjour Maddie, I do not know what the rest of your sentence meant" She giggles and sets her book down, and takes her glasses off.

"I asked what's up!" She tells me and my mouth forms an 'O' shape.

"Well, I am quite hungry.." I trail off and she stands up,

"Ever had great French cuisine? Let's go!" She slips on her shoes and grabs my hand to lead me out. As we walk out I see Calum walking in the dorm next to me.

"Hey Lydia!" He smiles and I grin back,

"Hey Calum" I blush and Maddie rolls her eyes, dragging me even faster.

"So Calum lives with Michael?" I question and she nods her head and we turn a corner.

"Yeah. They've been best friends forever. Michael and Calum are like polar opposites. I think the only reason why they're still so close is their love for the same kind of music." She tells me as we step into the elevator.

"Oh really?" I ask and she nods her head,

"Yeah, them and two other guys are in this band. I don't recall the name." She finishes and presses the button, floor 2.

"That's pretty cool. They must get a lot of girls then." I tell her and get a little bit self conscious, I wonder how many girls Calum has slept with.

"I'm pretty sure Michael is only in it for the girls" She snorts and I nod my head. This Michael guy seems like a real asshole. We enter a restaurant and the waiter guy seats us in a booth. We look at the menu as the bell jingles, signaling that some one had walked in. Maddie and I both look up and suddenly not only her face, but her drink fell too.
