Serena

Standing in front of me was one of the biggest building I had ever seen in my entire life. The Gates were closed but you could tell you were in a rich place since they glowed of witch's' light and podum. (podum is some kind of light that reflects from Neptune. Since Neptune is blue it creates a serene light that only reflects when it senses a place that is pure, or in other words beautiful and rich). The building looked rich itself, Cream on the outside and beautiful Clark windows (these windows are made of steel and rubies which gives you a beautiful reddish color). Everything about this castle screamed fulsomeness. Looking at my clothing I noticed that I was only wearing my mother's warrior dress with my uncle's brocade jacket, my boots were the same dark brown leather boots that my mom made out of leather, dirt, and melted steel droppings to keep them in place. They were the only pair that I owned, feeling as if I was a servant instead of feeling like a warrior I wanted to turn back at all cost. While walking to this palace which have been a three days walk, the longest time I have ever spent away from home my heart wrenched by just thinking about the people that I left behind. They were the only ones that never had the heart to judge me when i wanted to become a warrior, they were the only ones who were patient enough to go through everything that I have ever done and still said that they loved me. I might only be seventeen, but watching most of your friends find their loved ones and the people they wanted to spent the rest of their lives with is incredibly mournful. Most Leniopians fall in love by the age of sixteen and then figure out that that is the person they will spent the rest of their lives, the best stories are when they hated each other for as long as they lived and when their sixteenth birthdays hit, they figured out the one person they hated was the one they loved the most.

Finally stopping my thoughts, I opened the gates to the castle which were still shining as bright as the stars. While walking, I saw lovely little houses, all of their windows tainted with Clark. Those little houses were for the less rich, mostly the people who worked by the king's side and enhanced the rules. After another five minutes, I finally arrived at the castle's front doors, lightly knocking at the doors I anxiously stood in front of the castle's doors. After another five minutes of knocking and waiting a knight came and opened the large doors, his bright green eyes searching into my soul.

"Hello sir my name is Serena Wrighthold, I came here in order of the queen and king." I told him. The look that he gave me told me that he did not believe me. I was always told that I looked like a criminal, no matter how hard I tried to look innocent and vulnerable.

"Excuse me my lady, but are you sure it was the king who sent you here bec-"

"Serena, Darling it's so good to see you, I was really having doubts about you coming."

"How do you do my lady?" I asked. Queen Alexandria was wearing one of the most intriguing gowns that I have ever seen. The gown was a satin green color with gold silk  that complemented her pale skin and beautiful green eyes. Suddenly I felt incredibly self-conscious, I was wearing clothes that not even the poorest peasants would wear.

"Oh darling there is absolutely no need for such. You are now a part of these castle walls, everyone here calls me Alex or Al" She replied. for the first time since I've known my queen she did not sound as evil as I thought that she would. Her voice sounded as sweet as honey, pure and innocent.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I feel comfortable calling my queen.....Alex" I told her honestly. My dad always taught me to respect my elders, even if they were only three years older than I, not That I was calling my queen old.

"It's quite alright Serena, Why don't I show you to your quarters?"

"I would very much appreciate it, thank you' I bowed, while taking my dark brown leather bag. We walked for what seemed like hours before arriving in front of beautiful sets of spiral staircases, on the ceiling were painting of what I think were past kings and queens with a beautiful chandelier shining with podum. The staircases looked like they were made of Gold and Clark. The whole palace seemed like it was shining with lights making the castle walls shine as if we were on Neptune, but the best part of the whole scene were probably the beautiful faeries that seemed to be floating all over the place. I was staring in awe the whole time. The place was magical and even though I was not supposed to, I felt at home. We finally went up the stairs, walking amongst beautiful painted doors. In the corridors were beautiful paintings that I could not help but feel allured to them. Each one that we passed seemed to tell a story, but the one that caught my eyes the most was the painting with a little boy sitting in what looked like a garden, all around him were dark shadows looking as if they were screaming at him. The little boy in the picture looked sad with what looked like blood streaming down his eyes. I did not realize that I had stopped walking until I heard a voice behind me that made me snap out of the trance I was currently in.
