"Oh come on, please let me go with you." I begged Arthur who towered over me with crossed arms.
"I told you before Chloe it is not going to happen." He sighed in exasperation as he looked around presumably for Merlin.
"Please Arthur," I begged, "it is not like I am not trained! You trained me yourself for christ's sake!" I pointed out and he sighed before turning around his back facing me. "Please Arthur!" He sighed once more before turning around again.
"Fine," he pointed his finger at me, "but if you get hurt you have no one else to blame but yourself." I squealed quickly hugging him before running off to tell Gwaine and Percival. I quickly found them in the armoury polishing their swords for the trip they were taking out which I would be accompanying them on. As I entered the room they both looked up grinning at me as stepped through the threshold.
"Guess who is coming on the ride with you." I sing as I sat on top of the wooden table.
"I sure hope the answer is Merlin because I will lock you in your room if it is not." Percival sourly says and the grin from my face fades.
"Give her a break." Gwaine laughs sliding his sword into the sheath.
"Yeah give me a break, you sound like Arthur." I moan.
"Arthur allowed this?" Percival questions raising his eyebrows.
"Yes and?" My own eyebrows raise before he sweeps out the room carrying his sword with them. I sighed before turning my attention back to Gwaine. "What is wrong with him?"
"Before you go judging the situation just remember how much you mean to him." Gwaine softly says and I sigh.
"I guess so, you ready to go?" I question picking my sword up from the rack.
"Let us head out onto the open road." Gwaine laughs slinging his shoulder over mine.
Only a few moments later the Knights and I were riding our horses out of Camelot with Merlin trotting along behind us. The blood red cloaks swished behind us as we rode along the uneven path through the woods. An unexplainable feeling swished over me as I stroked the horses mane and I looked over at Gwaine grinning.
"Is this not fantastic?" I giggled but he simply shook his head his lips desperately trying to hide a smile. I rolled my eyes in his direction before returning my gaze to the road ahead. Arthur slowed to a stop as Merlin pulled up next to him. I pulled gently on the horses reigns slowly stopping myself.
"What is wrong?" Merlin questioned but Arthur shushed him looking around.
"Arthur?" Percival questioned moving forward slightly. At that moment silence drifted between us as we all looked around at each other knowing deep down what was going to happen next.
An arrow flew between us sinking itself into a tree before we reacted. We all immediately jumped off our horses pulling out our swords as men dressed in chain mail jumped out with axes and swords. A man charged towards me screaming as I ducked his blow swinging my own sword towards him. He thrust his sword towards me and I jumped backwards swinging my sword at his head. The blow hit and he instantly crumpled to the floor.
I looked around and saw Percival and Gwaine fighting two attackers each as one went in for a blow I dived in front of them both. The blade pierced through my chest as I fell to the floor. Blood oozed out of the wound as the attackers sword was pulled out. Gwaine dove forward catching me before my head hit the floor as Arthur jumped over us both slashing our attackers with Percival. I coughed up blood as Merlin ran towards me with Leon on his heels. Gwaine ripped some fabric off his sleeve pushing it against the wound. I groaned in pain and he winced biting his lip.
"Sorry." He whispered as the sound of metal on metal stopped. Percival, Arthur and the remainder of the Knights gathered around me worry plastered on all their faces.
"You are an idiot," Arthur stated his voice laced with pain as the world began to spin around me.
"Have a little faith," I whispered As my eyes closed I distantly heard people scream out my name but I could not move my body was unresponsive. I felt my self being lifted up before the world truly went back and I felt myself slip into unconsciousness.
Familiar voices surrounded me, whispering things, pleading for me to wake but I remained unwillingly silent.
"I won't leave your side until you wake,"
"I should never have allowed you to come,"
"Chloe please wake up,"
"I miss the sound of your voice,"
"Chloe please wake up,"
"I should have protected you,"
"Chloe, Chloe. Chloe, Chloe."
My eyes opened the light burning them. As I took in my surroundings I realised I was in my own room but with a few added additions. Asleep around me were Gwaine, Percival, Leon, Merlin and Arthur. I gently smiled at the sight of them before shouting my voice raw.
"Boys!" I croaked and they jumped up their expressions confusion then joy.
"You are awake!" Cried Merlin joyfully and I smiled at him with my dry lips.
"Have a little faith Merlin." I joked and they grinned at me. "How long was I out for? A day?" They looked at each worried expressions on their face. "What?"
"You were out for two months" Percival informs me and my heart sinks.
"Oh," I said as they moved their feet towards me wrapping their arms around me. Gwaine's face was pressed against mine and Percival's head was resting on my shoulder.
"I had faith in you," whispered Gwaine and I felt his eyelashes flick against my cheek as he grinned. The boys around me groaned pulling away but my stomach contracted with the joy I felt at that moment.
They had faith in me after all this time.A/N Sorry that it was so long and rather long winded but I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to vote, follow, comment and request!
